CacheAcrossAmerica is a project to link a chain of geocaches from coast to coast. There are several chains started by players who sent email to the group naming caches they have hidden or found. The chains are extended by other players visiting the cache at the end of the chain, then another cache within 100 miles. Two chains can be linked by a player visiting the ends of two chains, provided the ends are less than 100 miles from each other.
On July 31, 2002, the two ends of the red chain reached the Atlantic and Pacific coasts (within 100 meters) and the goal of a CacheAcrossAmerica was achieved. Thanks to all who contributed.
