Description
Please Note : This Group is only open to existing members or potential members of the Living History organization. This is not a "chat" site. If you are interested in getting involved in this exciting hobby & preserving History please read on !!
Welcome! Founded in 2006 we are a Civil War Living History Organization with a "unique" portrayal of the Army of the Confederate States.Units of the Regular army were involved in all theaters of operation and upheld the traditions of the American "Professional" Soldier. The Infantry unit is the primary military impression within the organization. At Living Histories we offer the opportunity for other impressions for educational purposes.
The organization is progressive in nature, there are uniform & equipment standards for our specific impression. We will direct you to approved vendors. We operate in the NJ / NY area and attend both Reenactments and Living Histories. Membership in the military unit is open to males only. For all other interested parties there is The Soldiers Aide Society which is a separate organization. Membership requires insurance coverage and a "reasonable" commitment to the unit. The organization is a New Jersey registered Non Profit Corporation. You can visit our Web Page at www.1stconfederatebattalion.org
