This group was created by the parent of a 14 year old ASL user about to be implanted. The purpose of this group is for parents of older children receiving cochlear implants to be able to share their experiences. Our needs differ from those of parents with children who were implanted as babies and toddlers. This group is open to all. Our focus will be on needs of the older deaf child receiving a cochlear implant and their progress post-implant. Sometimes I have felt like I am the only parent on the other CI forums with a teenager receiving an implant but I know there must be others.
