Peace Corps Wiki is a collaborative project whose goal is to create a
free, interactive, and up-to-date source of information about serving
as a volunteer with the U.S. Peace Corps. Anyone is welcome to edit,
add, or change any entry, or start a new one.

The beginning entries and original outline of Peace Corps Wiki were
copied directly from the official Peace Corps website. Also, the
Welcome Books for each country were turned into a wiki as the starting
point for each country.

(Both the Peace Corps website and Welcome Books are in public domain
in the United States and outside of copyright, as they are the work of
the United States Federal Government.)

Wow - the Friends of Ukraine (NPCA affiliate group) reunion is coming
up fast - Portland Reunion, August 10 ­ 12!

Any of you guys planning to attend? This event is open to ALL
"veterans" of Peace Corps Ukraine so start packing!

What fun to hang out with RPCVs who served in Ukraine and just share
stories, and make new friends!  You can eat Ukrainian food,  speak the
language again and even wear your souvenir Ukrainian shirt while you
make toasts with Ukrainian "water" and sing Ukrainian folk songs!
Of course it is not just a social occasion - Friends of Ukraine is
also having annual elections too.

Even if you have not joined Friends of Ukraine officially, you may be
interested in serving...don't be shy!  The group needs motivated
leaders to step forward and move the organization forward.  Consider
nominating yourself (or someone else) for one of the positions!  (You
need NOT be present to win!)

In fact, if you cannot make it to the conference, you can still join
in!  There will be a conference call The annual meeting will be
conducted via a conference call scheduled for 1:30 PM PDT (4:30 PM
EDT) on Saturday, August 11th. Thanks to technology we can all
participate!

Abroad". It is a collection of humorous stories by volunteers. I am recommendng
it for two
reasons. One is that the proceeds go to a charity, and two I have a story in the

Hello.
I had the pleasure of staying with two Peace Corps volunteers from Indiana and
photographing their work. Jerry Wagner and Shazia Davis were gracious hosts and
subjects
for me
as I begin work on a personal project to do photo story of Peace Corps
volunteers around the
world.
Shazia lives in a isolated village on the Caribbean coast in Panama called
Palenque.
Jerry lives in a rural village called Lucky Strike in Belize. Last I heard he
and the rest of the
Belize volunteers were consolidated in the capital city of Belmopan as a result
of the
hurricane. I am sure that he and the rest of the volunteers are okay and have
their work cut
out for them as relief work begins.
I have posted just a small sample of the photos I took of Jerry and Shazia.
I hope to go back to Belize next week to take more pictures of Jerry to document
this new
aspect of his service, dealing with the aftermath of the hurricane.
All in all, Jerry and Shazia are excellent volunteers. I was very impressed with
their work and
how they both have become integretated members of their communities. They are to
be
commended.

Dear CIRPCA Members,

I recently received my invitation to serve in Honduras in the Health
Program, and leave in February, 2008.  I am super excited and a bit
nervous.  I would love to hear any wisdom (and maybe some packing
tips) from former volunteers, especially those who served in Honduras.

Greetings fellow PCVs and RPCVs in Indiana!
I am working on a project with PROVOCATE designing a "map" showing
where PCVs from Indiana Served and which countries these PCVs visited
during their service and after service.  The product will be a visual
aid showing how Peace Corps may have aided in exploring other countries.

No names/dates will be used on this project.  I will just be
highlighting countries on a map.

Hello, I completed my service as an education volunteer in Tanzania
the end of Last October and I am having a terrible time finding a job.
Can anyone give me any ideas or hire me? I have a Bachelor's in
Chemistry from Taylor University and I spent the last two years
teaching Secondary School Chemistry as a full time teacher in a
village school in Tanzania. If you can help I'd love to hear from you!
