This special group of Christian parents in western North Carolina is independent of an outside program or church. We are all home schooling parents who profess Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord of our lives and home schools and we live in the greater Asheville NC region. Our home schools each have a student in the 7th grade level or above by September 2008 or have graduated a student withing the last 3 years.

Our member database (never shared), requires the following prior to approval: parent's full name, city and state, 8th-12th grade home schooled student's name(s) and expected year of high school graduation, name and city of church most frequently attended. Approval normally takes 1-3 days.

The CHSHS Parents Yahoo! Group serves as a place where Christian parents can fellowship, sharing concerns, tips, resources, support and info about home schooling teenagers in our area.

Topics discussed may include curricula, academic support opportunities and testing, parent seminars and workshops, college-prep/career-prep, youth missions opportunities, sports, field trips and fellowship, college financial aid and SAT planning, area events, driver's ed, church offerings and anything else that may support and encourage us as Christian high school home school parents and those transitioning.

Available resources include bookmarked links and documents to help with making a high school plan, testing prep & aids, transcripts, tutored lab co-op groups in our region, tutorials and resources for those tough high school subjects, most of the discussion topics listed above and much, much more... all in one place (here) where you can find it whenever you need it!
