It just occurred to me that for two weeks I am the all-powerful
Promptmeister. Today one whole week as gone by. Doing the math, I believe I
have one week left. Ergo, I think, before I lose my tenure, I should
exercise some of the prerogatives of this noble position. For one, I'm
going to name names. Yes, I am. I'm naming the names of those who should
receive kudos for actually submitting new pieces for our reading enjoyment
during the past week. I shall add names as they pop up. To wit:

Lynne Fulsom, for "The Peabody Perplexity". Huzzah, Lynne!
Mary Kay Williams, for "Games in the Rain". Attagirl, Mary Kay!
Jeannette Tanaka, for "The Dowry of Beth McSwyl". Whoopee kay-yay, Jeannette!
Jeannie Mobley (Jeannette Tanaka's evil twin), for "Running on Empty".
Bravo, Jeannie!
J. Mobley Tanaka (Jeannette & Jeannie's wag of a sister), for "Rowk,Stoor
and Stife in the Netty". Three cheers!
and
Leslie Russell, for "Wanna See Some More Pictures of My Puppies?" Not
exactly literature, but definitely awesome. Banzai, Leslie!

Including the three prompts below, you've been given 21 opportunities over
the week to come up with superlative stories, poems, essays, articles, et
al. Along about now I'd normally give a rousing pep talk about how it's now
your turn to show your stuff, but since I haven't submitted a blessed thing
this past week either, in the interests of not sounding like a hypocritical
toady, I think I shall be quietly humble instead.

1) twilight of the slobs
2) Maxwell's comeuppance
3) waiter, what's this fly doing in my soup? (Yeah, I know, the punch line
is usually "I would venture the backstroke, sir," but this time develop
something supremely weird)

Steve, I would like to apologize for my total lack of participation. I have read most of the prompts up to the 16th. Then fell ill with a nasty head cold....
