CA-HEAL is for families in CA who are homeschooling their children (all ages) who are considered "different" in some way. The differences range from those of a physical nature to those which are more elusive to name (in other words, your "marches to the beat of a different drummer"). Your child has been labeled or is likely to be labeled if he/she attended a traditional school setting.

This list will act as a place to share resources; to offer and receive support; and to develop friendships. At this time, the list will be limited to those who reside in CA (hopefully, some of us can connect with others IRL, if so desired). This list will also not be listed in the yahoogroups directory, so that the list will hopefully, remain manageable and comfortable for participants.

Open to independent homeschoolers, charter school homeschoolers, those underground, and those considering this option. Unfortunately, we cannot assist those who wish to remain in traditional classroom school settings. This list is owned by Lenore Colacion Hayes, author of "Homeschooling the Child with ADD (Or Other Special Needs" Your Complete Guide to Successfully Homeschooling the Child with Learning Differences," published by Prima/Random House in 2002.
