Did you used to be fascinated with the concept of Burning Man, but now find yourself struggling to remember why? This is, and is not a Burning Man list. Mostly, it's not about events that will take place at Black Rock City itself. This list is about events that try to get back to some of what Burning Man has forgotten how to be, or never quite figured out how to be in the first place. It's a place to get away from the druggies, the ravers, the yahoos, the group-hug-in-the-desert camps, the adolescent cliquishness and lunatic fringe politics, and back to the art and ingenuity. It is Burning for those unafraid to say that Postmodernism is nonsense, and that's it's high time that the 90s and Political Correctness in all forms were over, already. It is Burning for those who know the difference between rebelling against the arbitrary constraints of society, and just simply refusing to grow up.
