"Religion," from the Latin "re" + "ligare," means simply "reconnection." Reconnection -- within ourselves and our many I's, within our families, our communities, our nation, our United Nations, our biosphere, and with our highest ideals -- this is the mandate of the 21st century.

This group aims to inspire a factual and positive vision, such as David Korten's in his books "The Great Turning" and "Agenda for a New Economy," in which religions and the sciences, including the economic and decision-making sciences, are 100 percent reconnected to helping humanity achieve a viable future.

Religions, professions, and systems of self-government on every level should be resources for personal self-globalization into ethical world fellowship. If, instead, they move people away from fellowship and Earth Community, they are frameworks of death. Alter them quickly, or abandon them and move on!

We urgently need to reinvent the human economic agenda. We urgently need to educate ourselves about economic justice and population overgrowth. We urgently need to move toward solar energy. We urgently need for every religion, profession, and decision-making system to support these efforts, to strengthen the global movement for a Culture of Peace, and to rebuild the Ark of the United Nations. We urgently need to dispel illusions about the United Nations, to refuel the engine of popular support for it, and to use this Ark to set sail together toward the safe harbor of sustainability.

Religious people of the world! Building Earth Community is the rational religious aim of the 21st century. But what is your religion's leaderhip DOING? Scientists! Over half of you are working for the military! Politicians and people of business, for humanity's survival, please reinvent the concepts of honesty, trustworthiness, and selfless service!
