Description

Religious, political and legal wars really suck. Whether they are waged between SGI and Nichiren Shoshu, or even more violently within those groups. However, like all disasters there is a silver lining, and that lining is that some of the conflict is hugely, immensely funny.

Some would oppose religious warfare. They would oppose religious intolerance; usually with crucifixions, proscriptions, excommunications and auto-da-fe's. But we have learned that the best way to deal with it and recognize it as the SNAFU -- [Situation Normal All F***d up} it is. Let's laugh.

Jerry Nowatzke started this group. He tried to base the general rules of conduct for satire in this group based on political cartoons, the National Lampoon and Mad Magazine. As his true disciple I'm continuing in his footsteps. Posts that are excessively dark or negative will not be permitted -- Unless they are also darkly and immensely funny.

If you want to insult individuals, please use some pen name for them so that you don't have to admit that that is the person you are talking about. If you do that they'll think you are talking about someone else, anyway. Personal insults, Don Rickles style, aren't allowed unless you are funnier than Don Rickles. Those who aren't funny enough will burned at the stake or at least kicked off this newsgroup. Don't worry it's a metaphor not a real semaphore. Nobody's jokes "hit" all the time.

If you don't see the humor get a life somewhere else. This is not America, but the Internet.

Jerry the Grand Pubah of of the Polyester Sect of Buddhism created this site, and now Chris Holte and Don Ross, his true disciples are maintaining it. (We are the One True Religion for all humanity) Join in, get a funny bone.

Texting Daimoku. Virtual butsudan on iPad -- pretty neat
We live in a virtual world. If one texts daimoku, does it still count? And since texting can get expensive, can we shorten it by texting NMMHRK? Or simply N?

Re: Deleted Messages
Dear andy, I would never call you a Neandrathal. An Australopithicus, maybe, but never a Neandrathal. Cheers to you too. Mark ________________________________
