Hope all are well.
We are going to need some men for my Sunday Night Dance at Dance
Boulevard. I've been having to dance with all the ladies, fortunately
Deborah and Ming Sum can lead and picked up some of the slack.
So join us this Sunday for an intermediate Cha Cha lesson at 7 PM and
dance from 8 - 10 PM

Friday the 11th at Dance Spectrum will be a mini showcase. Mini, in a
sense that there will be may be 6 routines max and that we will not be
providing the greater selection of food. We will however have a lot of
brand new routines. The long anticipated Paso Doble formation team
(complete with sword play) will make it's debut performance and the
return of Yelena. This will be her first routine since having her baby 1year
ago,and a few other surprises. Cost still only $10 for the evening.

Lesson from 8 to 9, Party til Midnight, performances to start at 9:15 and spread
out through out the evening. Please help me out by taking lots of photos for the
website

Hope fully things are back to normal with everyone and that you had a great
Labor day week end.
There were a couple of errors on the calendar so I am clearing them up.  I have
now posted all the dances on my wall calendar so I am complete for the year.

Friday Night Parties will consist only of the 6 basic dances, Fox Trot ,Waltz,
Tango, Cha Cha, Rumba, Swing.
There will be one smooth dance and one rhythm dance every month. The Sunday
Parties will cover the 14 dances

So the dances for September are as follows.

Friday 11 Fox Trot       Sunday the 13  Fox Trot
Sunday 20th Bolero
Friday 25 EC Swing***      Sunday 27 Quickstep

*** Join us  on Friday the 24th for all the September Birthdays.  Last count
there were 4 of us.  We'll have a swinging good time

The classes begin Monday the 14 and Tuesday the 15 at the Community Center so
sign up  now.  Monday's intermediate class will focus on the night club dances,
Hustle, Two Step, Salsa and West Coast Swing

If you really Like to learn more waltz. I will be teaching Waltz on Friday Aug
14 at Dance Spectrum and Sunday Aug 16 at Dance Boulevard.

Make a note that on Saturday August 29 will be the next Showcase at Dance
Spectrum
Saturday from 4 - 8 PM

The classes starting in September will begin on the 14th and the 15th. We will
have a 2 week break between sessions.

College is about to start on the 25th of August so look for party turnouts to
increase again in the fall.

  Here is the latest dance news.

Gloria and I will be perfoming our Danger Zone routine at a fundraiser at the
Campbell Community Center on the corner of Winchester and Campbell Avenue.
We will go on about 6:30 PM. I don't have all the details fo the event excpet
that is is from 4 - 8 and is free and it is to bring awareness of all the
refugee of the world.
The performance will be at the main Ballroom of the center.

If you can't make that we wil be perfoming it again for you this Friday night at
my dance party at Spectrum. I will be teaching Night club two step

First Showcase Friday ,April 10
Our first Showcase of the year is already looking like a sell out. Over 30 performers and lots of dancing. We have lots of new routines as well as new performers. Due to the unexpected amount of entries we have to start earlier than expected and will be splitting the showcase into two separate categories: Freestyles and Show routines.

The Freestyles will begin at 7 PM. The freestyles will showcase those whose routines are competitive in nature and not choreographed to a specific song. We will be combining those into two specific sessions. We will start with International Latin featuring our the kids from Artjom and Liudmila's youth  classes  The Standard section will begin around 7:35. The freestyles should be completed by 8 PM. Our Showcase category  will feature performances specifically choreographed for that song. We will have a half hour break with general dancing before the second half  begins. The first routine will begin at 8:30.

Some of the new routines will include a fun Viennese Waltz formation by my performance team and there will be three routines from my San Jose State University students. I will be busy with 3 new routines featuring: an Argentine Tango with Armina, a fun jive with Gloria and a refurbished Cha Cha with Jessica. Jessica will also be returning with Scott to perform a fun Swing Routine. My competitive team will be performing the Rainbow Waltz with a new added Fox trot choreography.  They plan to compete with this routine at the upcoming Cardinal Classic.

The night will end with an edited Pro Show. Our featured stars will not be able to perform as promised, however, I am looking forward to featuring my new professional partner Lindsay Morris with whom I will be doing a Fox Trot. At the end of the show we will have general dancing until midnight.

Seating is first come first served so get there by 7:30 for the best seating.  Entry is $20  for adults $10 for 16 and under

SF Open Dance Competition March 27, 28, 29

Sunday Night Dance parties at Dance Boulevard 1824 Hillsdale Blvd, San Jose, this Sunday. Lesson time will be 7 - 8 Party  from 8 to 10. These lessons will be intermediate level. The lesson will be intermediate  Fox Trot for the 29th. Cost still only $10.00. We will still have the Friday night dances every 2nd and fourth Fridays (at Dance Spectrum) as well as dance parties every Sunday night at our new location!!!

It'll be here before you know it our first Showcase of the Year, Friday, April 10. Lots of new routines and new performers. Mark you calendar for April 10. There will not be a lesson for this party. Doors open at 7:30, general dancing from 8 - 8:30, Showtime at 8:30.

We have run performance formation teams for many years now, you'll get to see our latest teams at the Spring Fling.  See Formations page for details.  Next practices will be every Sunday starting Sept 21st.  Performance will be at our next Showcase on Saturday , December 6.   Practices will be held at Dance Spectrum in Campbell.  Dance will be a Viennese Waltz.

What has happened Since July 10

Gloria Green and I competed with a new solo at the international Grand Ballroom at the Airport Marriott in Millbrae, Saturday, July 26. Congratulations to Gloria for being nominated for the top three solos in the competition.

BRTD Show
I am affiliated with a program called "Building Respect Through Dance" whose objective is to use dance as a way to bring back elegance and respect.

A show was presented Aug 2^nd to show all different types of dances as well as the different age groups that dance.  Many thanks to all who participated.  Gloria Green for performing her Samba, Mikelyn Stacey, Garry Pycroft, Monica Gallegos, Linh Hankins, Ian Whiteley and Elizabeth Jewett for performing their rumbas.

The event was held at The San Jose Theater for the Performing Arts and the performers were excited being on the stage.
