Description

A list for those affiliated with Brooklyn shuls, including Flatbush, Boro Park, Crown Heights, Park Slope, Midwood, Sheepshead Bay, and all other areas of Brooklyn. This is a list intended for people in or around the New York City area, WHILE THEY ARE IN OR AROUND THE NEW YORK CITY AREA.

The following types of ads are never permitted on BronxShuls, BrooklynShuls, ManhattanShuls, QueensShuls, StatenIslandShuls, or LivingstonShuls (don't bother looking for an exception). Repeated attempts to post prohibited items may lead you to be removed and/or banned from any or all of these groups:

* Business ads of any kind (this includes but is not limited to real estate management, for-fee classes, advertising opportunities, automobiles for sale, lease, or hire, tutoring, travel opportunities, tour guides, or entertainment). The one exception to this are real estate postings for locations in the NYC area (Northern and Central NJ, Westchester, Rockland, and Long Island ads are permitted);
* Real estate ads (either looking for or places available) outside the NYC area. Please note Miami and Israel are outside the NYC area.
* Offers to purchase or sell where the transaction is illegal or unethical (including airline miles);
* Offers to advertise in a newspaper, magazine, web site, or other publication;
* Political appeals or editorials, even if sanctioned by Rabbis;
* Advertisements for schools, seminaries, or yeshivot outside the greater NYC area (this includes scholarship offers);
* Divrei torah (words of torah), halachot, chizuk, or mussar;
* Appeals or solicitations (for money, body parts, prayers (i.e., tefillot for the sick), or any in-kind donations). Reminders of certain seasonal prayers may be allowed, but only the first once or twice a posting is attempted in a season;
* Invitations to subscribe to web sites, newsletters, magazines, or any other media outlet;
* Emails or postings that appeared on another mailing list.
