I had a briefing this afternoon about imminent HourBike launch. Small private
company that has been quietly trialling up at UWE between Parkway Station and
UWE.

Popular opinions seems to suggest that we should expect a lot of bikes deposited
in the lower parts of Bristol after hiring and probably a need for a means to
transport them all back up the hills to Clifton etc at the end of each day (if
there's going to be any hire points up there?).

Does that mean the Hourbike project is privately funded, or is it receiving public funds (or other support like free/subsidised infrastructure)? And if...

Hour Bike is privately funded. They have, I understand had a grant of £4k, with further £4K for launch and £4kdue next year - total £12K from Council...
