I wanted to be sure everyone knew about the upcoming Sticks N'
Stitches event coming up at the end of the month. It's a fun time to
get together with fellow knitters and crocheters to watch some hockey
and help out a good cause. Here's the details:

Colorado Avalanche VS Anaheim Ducks
Jan 31st , 1 p.m. @ Pepsi Center
Tickets: $27 includes hot dog , soda, $5 ESPN Zone Game card.
To order: 303-405-6074 or go to http://tiny.cc/iLakd
We are sponsoring a local charity this time - Kaps for Kendall - so
folks can bring a knitted or crocheted hat to the game. Some of the
hat patterns are pretty simple and quick so I'm working on prizes for
the knitters/crocheters who can complete a hat by the end of the game.
I'll also have some raffle drawings during each intermission.

If you're a LYS owner/manager (or an indie dyer, spinner, etc) who
would like to donate anything for the raffle, provide info about your
shop, send some coupons, or supply any other giveaways let me know!

I hope to see you all there!

I hope this email goes through!  I have just changed it to dg3909@... and I don't know if the yahoo group accepts outside emails.  We'll see...

Kayla (and everyone!) -
I am quite busy working and homeschooling the kids, and we are down to one car!  I am not familiar with restaurants/get together places in Boulder either, so I can't just pick one!  If anyone else would like to organize this final 'meeting', please go ahead.  I was wanting to wait till Spring when the weather is nicer and I can offer my home as a meeting place if people want to drive to Longmont - but I'll go anywhere.

I certainly understand busy, but geez, how big a deal is it to pick a restaurant and a couple dates for folks to choose from, and share a couple of hours together. If we wait until Spring, I am going to forget what everyone even looks like (ha, ha).

    Hi Kayla!
Looks like there's a few of us still on the mailing list. I may have
to just set a date, and maybe a restaurant in Boulder, and we can all
meet there? I don't want to be stuck eating $80 worth of food myself
though! Maybe I'll email people individually since some of them may
    have left the group list.

Hi All: Gee, I have missed you alot, and yet, I have been too busy to

But, I DEFINITELY want to have a last get together, share fiber
projects we have been up to, split up left-over yarn/needles, eat some
munchies ... With a couple weeks notice, I can make most evenings, some
    Wednesday afternoons, some weekends.

It will be GREAT to see you! Kayla

    Hi Kayla!
Looks like there's a few of us still on the mailing list. I may have
to just set a date, and maybe a restaurant in Boulder, and we can all
meet there? I don't want to be stuck eating $80 worth of food myself
though! Maybe I'll email people individually since some of them may
    have left the group list.

so the weather has definitely warmed up... and cooled down, and warmed
up again. and we never organized a final get together.

i'm wondering if i could get some feed back on a few things
    1. do we want to have a get together? when?
    2. are you willing to help organize a portion of it?
    3. do you have an idea about what we should do with the remaining money?
    4. if nothing does get organized, how would you feel about donating
the money? we could donate to Heifer International or keep it local?

please give some feed back and we'll take if from there.

Diane: would you like me to put Teddy in the mail?

Hi Emily and anyone else who's still on this list! I've been thinking
about this last get-together, but dang,
things are so busy!! With homeschooling my daughters, that eats up
    about 90% of my time!
Anyway, I'll help organize! I can offer my house for a get-together if
everyone doesn't mind driving to Longmont.
The get-together was for spending that money! I could get pizzas,
    drinks, whatever anybody wants.

Emily, I'll pick up the Teddy, you don't have to mail it! Let me know
when you'll be at the next SnB and I'll
come then! I'm not on the list, so tell me where it is too.

    Hi Kayla,
I'm sure that whatever we decide to do, we'll give everyone a two week
notice. I understand how it is for you during the warm weather months

Hi all:  I agree that we should get together for a last hoorah. With
$87, we could have a nice dinner together, divy up the left-over

is both good and bad. Good because I always love warm weather, bad
because I get sooooooo busy with landscaping as the season goes on. So,
if we wait, I will need a good lead time (at least 2 weeks) of the date
of our get together to be sure I can attend.

And, Diane, I totally understood your "absurd" comment about the
requirement of a permit. Of course, we can just meet at the park to
knit and spin together without one, as long as it doesn't look like we
    have organized anything.

P.S. Kayla, I'm not saying that you are absurd for wanting a permit!
That sounded weird after I read it. I meant that I think it's absurd
that the city would want us to have a permit for getting together and
    knitting.

Hi Kayla, thanks for replying. There really is no info for the knit
out permits. I was told last year that there were going to be some
changes for the permits this year, and that we might need to pay a fee,
and also I don't know who handles them now. If you're just wanting to
get together and knit, I find it absurd that we would need a permit for
that! But if you really want to pursue it, I'd check with the Boulder
    Parks and Rec.
I'd love to see your custom spinning wheel! Sounds like a cool thing!

As for a last get-together, well I haven't had much of a response, so
we'll need to come up with some other idea for the money we have in the
treasury. Or maybe we can wait till summer and then have a blow-out
    get together???
Let me know what to do! Talk it up out there.

Well, I agree that we had a good discussion last year about the vision
and direction of the Guild, and that we have given it another chunk of
time to grow stronger, yet it hasn't really grown beyond the core
group. I would love to have the info./permit for the Knit Out, as I
really enjoy doing this and even want to do it every month during good
weather. We don't need to be a Guild to participate in a Knit Out, and
it might even be a fun opportunity for us to get together every now and
then to knit, share, visit, etc. I am currently working on a VERY
custom Ladybug spinning wheel for myself (it will either be all purple
or purple/green/magenta tie-dye) that will be really fun to spin on in
    public and see people's reaction.

I have enjoyed meeting and learning from all of you, and will hope to
stay in touch. I have Penny's telephone numbers, but not others, so
please feel free to share them with me. And, I hope to have one last
get-together just to celebrate all we have shared together.

Though I have not been able to participate in the last 3 months, I did
enjoy coming to the meetings. I will be sorry to see the group close
but I do understand that lives do get really busy. Thank you to
everyone for sharing all of your knowledge. I do have most of you as
friends in ravelry so I hope we can stay in touch that way, otherwise.
Thank you Emily and Diane for heading this project for maintaining the
    guild.
