The Specific purpose of the Boston SpEd PAC is to advocate for the welfare of Boston's children with special needs and to promote, through our advocacy, a school system that enhances the quality of education for all Boston Public School students.

Our overriding goals are that every child with special needs will receive services through the regulations and procedures which are guaranteed under the state and federal law, that the quality of those services will be such that they allow each child to reach their maximum feasible potential development, and that these services occur within the least restrictive environment wherein such programming can be delivered successfully.

This egroup will promote the above and provide an online resource for parents to discuss issues they are facing in BPS. It will be a place to share ideas, stories and information regarding the provision of services to our special needs children. This group will also act as an informative forum to help parents who are navigating the special needs maze. By sharing all of our viewpoints the Boston SpEd PAC will be able to more effectively address systemic issues within BPS that affect all children.
