Boon ... That's a right purty back button from
the Outpost ! Thanks !<br><br>"The Few" told me I
"cheated" when I "voted" from your page today. It's that
message that says they recorded my ISP in the last hour
-- but I had not been there since yesterday. Go
figure ! Maybe they are tired of my "cookies". Maybe
they are getting ready for National Egg Salad Week.
Who knows ???<br><br>Tony -- Are you SURE you and
Maria are not Italian ? Maybe Austritalian ? -- Good to
see you again too ... and people DO tell me I'm a
good " FO " ... guess in this instance, it stands for
Finding Outstanding ... people that is ! <br><br>Tony ...
about the hatch to Revetment ... I can't get in from
your home page. Sorry to be a pain ...but can you post
a direct link in he links to the page where all of
your poems are listed ?<br><br>I had the same
situation with the hatch to Boon's Outpost from his home
page and I'm still not certain what the problem is. My
head be hurtin' !<br><br>Just for fun ... I.. um ...
put my ... um .. picture on my profile. Note the
headgear in Marine Corps Scarlet. *LOL*<br><br>Happy
Easter all and may your baskets always be
full!<br><br>af<br>ee<br>Just a basket case !
Yep, and it is an awesome poem, very true , it
was a time when we had to draw stength from each
other, more than any other time before or since. I could
understand how a re-union could cause Old Salts, to slip
back into their youth...S/F Boon
I'm pretty certain that I posted this at the
former ... but it is interesting how it fits
now.<br><br>I wrote this in 1993 after volunteering at a Combat
Veterans' Reunion - my first.

Well my friends, in honour of the reunion of old
and dear friends, I have posted a new (old) poem up
in The Revetment. None of you have EVER seen it
before and I hope you enjoy it. It's called "What Price
Us?" and the URL
is:<br><br><a href=http://www.geocities.com/bushranger73/whatprice.html

a wonderful and blessed Easter Sunday over there
- ours is 3 minutes to ending.<br><br>Semper Fi

Thank you so much Boon - you have done both me
and the poem proud.<br><br>EE, good to hear from and
be with you again. I have never forgotten you; I
have much to thank you for, not the least of which was
that you invited me to Poetic Justice in the first
place. So much has happend since then and I hope that
you get a chance to visit The Revetment. There you
will find some of the results of that
introduction.<br><br>More importantly than anything else is the joy of the
"mateship" (defined in Australia as a greater, more natural,
more instinctive and stronger form of friendship) that
I have formed with Boon. It's a fair dinkum, ridgee
didge, bonza feeling I swear on me grandmas black pussy
cat 'n' straw broom.<br><br>Semper Fi<br>It sure is
good to be back home again.<br><br>Tony
Hey guys good to have you here...And yes this is

I come from a land down under<br>where women glow
and men chunder<br><br>Stole that, but as Maria says,
These's nose place like home - smells right!<br><br>Ahoy
the HMAS Boondocker (it an international ship),
permission to come aboard, sir. We've got some boundaries to
cross, familar places to visit and uncharted seas to
explore.<br><br>"To steer the barque of this life over the seas of
passion without quitting the helm of rectitude is the
highest perfection to which human nature can attain, and
as the builder raises his column with the level and
perpendicular, so let us conduct ourselves towards this world.
To observe a due medium between avarice and
profusion, to hold the scales of justice with equal poise,
to make our passions and prejudices coincide with
the just line of our conduct and in all our pusuits,
to eternity in view."<br><br>The foregoing is
paraphrased from my favourite portion of a wonderful lecture
presented within an orgranisation to which I belong. It is
very much an excellence for which I
strive.<br><br>Good to be home again<br><br>SF<br>BR73

because of too many knocks on the head! <br><br>af<br>ee
I took the "easy" way in! *LOL* and I'm on my way
to the back porch again. Is it Lemonade weather yet

We fought as one in the land of the
Sun<br>through the jungles and the Monsoon rains<br>We were
taught to kill and to take useless hills<br>to accept
and then to bury the pain<br><br>We were taught to
forget our loss<br>not to grieve for the Few and the
Proud<br>We sat in silence in utter defiance<br>crying inside
but never out loud<br><br>They had much to teach and
senseless goals to reach<br>we learned those hard lessons
well<br>We lived for the moment, overcame the
torments<br>never thinking we would return from this
hell<br><br>Still we said our goodbye's and flew the friendly
skies<br>war torn, dazed and alone<br>They taught us well to
survive, to fight and to die<br>but they never taught us
how to come home...<br><br>Boon 4/18/00
