Gentlemen: I need a list of AS 29 boats sold over the past years to establish a
value for
mine. I do remember a 29 sold a few years back in Toronto. Any info on this
would be
appreciated.

Hi!
I'm Tim . . . I built Woodwind in 2005, launching in October in
Windsor, Ontario in the Detroit River and Lake St. Clair. My wife and I
built her in July and August and splashed her in October 2005 because
we couldn't wait 'till the next spring. She is fast, pretty, and solid,
mahoghany ply and douglas fir, fresh new tanbark sails, trailer. In
new condition! White hull, dark plexi windows.

Contact me at tcoughlin43@...

This is a fresh new boat, reasonable expectations of materials
investment recovery . . .

Can you tell me more about your boat?

And do you know of anyone who is driving to dfw Texas who could
deliver the boat. How long could you hold the boat while buyer arranges
shipping?

might move boat/trailer. Would love to see what needs to be done.

I currently own seven boats and need to make space for new projects.
I am putting two boats up for sale.

1. Bolger June Bug (Rowing Version) $200.00

2. Michalak AF3 Balanced lug version with Bohndell sail no trailer.
$500.00

Both boats are in good condition.

The AF3 has always been stored inside. The bottom was fiberglassed
however the paint on the bottom is peeling off since I left it in the
water for a month a couple of years ago. Other wise it is in great
shape. Construction completed in 2004. Pictures can be seen at

Chuck,
I tried responding to your post however I am not sure if you got it or not. I am
interested to see if your Micro is still for sale. I am very interested as I
have always wanted to build one myself however I just need to look into how
difficult it would be to bring the boat across the border to Canada as this is
where I live. I see you are a few hours away from the Canadian border. Do you
ever travel there...just a thought as it would make things easier if the person
who owns the boat would bring it across.

Thanks...Steve

Hi Marc,

Any offers yet? I am interested but would need more details.

Do you have an all-up towing weight on the trailer? I am assuming it is
a tandem trailer. Electric or surge brakes?

Interested in how it is in cooler weather. What kind of heater etc.

Also delivery costs and time frame when it has to be removed or if there
is a storage facility near you. I could not get down to see it before
about the end of July.

When I say "down" - that is because I am in Canada.

Sincerely,

Nels

AS29, Pandora, former Alisa, my dreamboat is for sale. $10,000 OBO.

After being ambushed by leukemia last year and still amazed to be alive, my
reduced
strength and stamina makes safely handling Pandora questionable. I'm now a
Dovekie sailor.

Most of Pandora's modifications and equipage are visible at:
They include cockpit shelters, 80 watt solar panel, raised boom with doghouse
mounted
sheet track, solid fuel heater and opening ports.

Located in Virginia. For more info and specifics: <hagan@...>

Hello. electric brakes on tandem trailer. new tires last year. all
up weight is about who knows what. maybe 5 tons. its got a nice
solid fuel stove SS with pipe and all that. gas appliances (stove,
three gas lites that warm up the interior nicely. great boat and all
that. good sails with the reacher too. built to phils specs with the
good cooler and fairly nice cabinets throughout. two bolger anchors,
with nylon rodes. harken blocks with trophybraid running rigging. no
motor but a yamaha bigfoot would be my next purchase. come on down
and we'll take it out.

delivery costs could be negotiated. where are you located. i'd be
happy to cut a good deal to move this boat out. I'll be needing to
clean out the boat house this summer so am anxious about just leaving
it tarped outside.

Hi Marc,

I live in BC. After careful consideration I feel the boat is too big and heavy
for what I want to do. I am a widower living in a mobile home and was really
considering going full time live aboard, but looking more closely it doesn't
seem as appealing as at first blush. The climate here is a bit too harsh in the
winter and I have too many other toys I don't want to part with yet. The mobile
is right on the river bank so it really works as a "sorta" live aboard. Being
over 65 I pay no property taxes and in fact get subsidized for staying in my own
home. Can't get that at a marina.

One option I was looking at was going halvers with Chris Curtis and having it
transported to his place at Sand Point Idaho, thereby avoiding crossing the
border and having it in a milder area but he is having some challenges trying to
downsize his house and will have to wait for money to become available.

I already have a Long Micro that I bought and hauled over from the north end of
Long Island. Unfortunately my van got stolen last fall and with gas the way it
is I have downsized and don't have the towing capacity. That was a Chevy 3500
with a 6.5 TD engine and would have towed an AS29 no problem. Not the one I have
now. Especially in the mountains here - they are very sticky as to towing
capacity - mine is only 5000 lb.

I would not want to tarp a boat like yours and store outside either unless I
installed a frame like the one in the photo. This has worked excellent with the
LM. But it is a real canvas tarp and not polytarp. The heavy canvas ones made in
India work well.

I had been planning on adding a doghouse to the LM and a small heater inside,
making it 3 season capable. When I saw yours I realized right off what a bargain
it is. No way you can come close to building and outfitting a new one for that.
Hell - the trailer and sails alone!

Sincerely,

Nels Arvidson (Half Swedish and the rest mongrel:-)

Sure. Thanks for the nice letter. You are right about the tarp
situation. The blue tarps are worse than nothing. Keep this in mind
and you are right on the money price wise. This is a big project to
undertake, and even a pro working fast would have a time getting it
out in less than 5 months. Not to mention the price of materials
now. I'm 100% swede much to my mother in law's chagrin, what with her
being a dukes mixture.
