West Marine can order a setup with both brackets going up which is what I was going to use with an adjustable 3 rung ladder.

You are 100% right and I think there is a 2 rungs model available somewhere. That holding bracket under it, it needs to be attached to the stern to support it. It seems it is at least 8-10" long. If you can see a real model and simulate the attachment on the stern... otherwise, make sure you can send it back.
;-)
I loved that model as well.
I have been tempted to get it as well more than once. It is just that lower bracket that makes me scratch my had...

I was looking at other styles as well. Here in the US the distributors are carrying a very small number of options, luckily being Italian I was exploring other countries solutions to ladders:

And I still believe that probably a custom solution might be the best for the bucks and style.

The one that you attached to the email was the same very ladder that I was looking at. Our transom is very small, the lower support would force the platform to be very high (useless). Furthermore, so close to getting wet, a 316 steel grade would be more appropriate.

What I saw on some Blackwatch boats were two of the folding steps that bolt into the side of the big rudder.  They work well and are never in the way.  I...

I need to also add that the rudder steps are a good idea because they never get in the way.  Boarding ladders need to be stowed, and on a small boat, that is...

That teak swim up ladder would be nice. But it almost seems as it would need at least 2 rungs of ladder to be able to use it. The teak platform looks like it...
