Description

Bluewater Boatworks of Amarillo Texas existed for the brief span of only five years. During this short time, two sailboat designs were produced, both rather rare today, and both destined to become American Classics.

Dave Autry was the architect for both designs, and the founder of the company that was to produce them. The original design, the Gaff Cat rigged Bluewater 14, began production in 1977, followed by the Cutter rigged Blackwatch 24 (or Blackwatch 19, depending on who you ask) in 1979.

When Bluewater Boatworks finally closed their facility in 1981, only 44 Bluewaters, and 81 Blackwatch Cutters had been completed.

This group has been established as a gathering-place for all those interested in Dave's wonderful little boats; owners, former owners, 'wanta-be' owners, and those simply curious about all things "Bluewater" are welcome!

You are 100% right and I think there is a 2 rungs model available somewhere. That holding bracket under it, it needs to be attached to the stern to support it.

That teak swim up ladder would be nice. But it almost seems as it would need at least 2 rungs of ladder to be able to use it. The teak platform looks like it

I need to also add that the rudder steps are a good idea because they never get in the way.  Boarding ladders need to be stowed, and on a small boat, that is
