In Nahuatl, the language of the Aztecs, "Intlil, intlapal in ueuetque" translates to "the Black and the Red of the ancients". For the peoples of Pre-Columbian Mexico, these two colors signified knowledge and wisdom. Day and night. The arts and sciences which some continue to practice to this day.
