Welcome!I started this as a place to share historical information and also any new news on the Biltmore Estate and the Vanderbilt family of Asheville, NC. I have collected over 2300 newspaper articles about Biltmore and George W. Vanderbilt prior to 1935 and most before 1915. I also have over 450 letters written by GWV. In starting this club I hope to share my knowledge as well as learn more from others. I know I've talked with many guests over the years at Biltmore who have a hard time getting firm and definitive answers to questions we pose on the history and the people of Biltmore, as well as I have. If its not in the Estate guide its hard to find and I'm hoping to change that. I like many others want to know the people of Biltmore's past. OUR MOTTO IS THE QUEST FOR TRUTH IN ALL THINGS BILTMORE! I have been working on a timeline of George W Vanderbilt's lifetime and would appreciate any dates you may have of his travels or events in his life. We are not affiliated with Biltmore Company although over 75 employee's of the company are members.
