What did Jesus accomplish in His passion? Exactly what did Jesus accomplish on that cross? I stress it is much more than saving us from hell. I further declare it was far beyond us walking around with our nose in the air claiming to be "king's kids". I assert it is both higher and deeper than most of us could imagine. Mankind fell from sonship. He fell from the place of honor, royalty and power as child of and representative to the One True God. Jesus was the Son of God; He did not deny that. He was the Christ - the One sent by God (Mark 14:62). But in the fulfillment of His mission, He was bringing man back to the place he fell from. We study to understand we have the power to become sons (male and female) of God. We study to understand what Jesus, the Son of Man, accomplished for the race of Adam. Father, I pray for us to have deeper understanding of Your will and Your purpose for mankind. I pray you give us insight to see what Jesus accomplished in His passion. I ask You to make us so aware of who we are, what we are and where we are that sickness no longer has power over us. Make us so clear-sighted that sin no longer snares us. I ask You to enlighten us so that we rise up as the Church You have sacrificed for us to be. Take us deeper, Father. Take us higher - make us understand that we now have the power to become sons (male and female) of God (Jn 1:12). In Jesus' Name I ask You for all I ask. Amen.
