Did you know that rat-poison is +99% good food? So, if Scripture is the "Daily Bread" of God, what would happen if Satan introduced some venom into it during translation? Like any good poison: Less is better because it evades detection easier. How would the average person know the Bible they're reading had been adulterated? Hmm.
In computer science, we use elaborate "checksums" to verify the accuracy of copied information. Just putting this text in front of you required using them (CRC-32). Do you think that G0D did something similar with the Scripture -to catch mistranslations? Indeed He did -in several dimensions!
The easiest technique to use is to compare theological specifics to the bigger theological principles. If a specific point seems to violate a principle; -the point MUST REMAIN IN DISPUTE until it can be reconciled because "God is not the author of confusion." (a guiding principle).
Once you understand the big picture & fundamental principles; -then catching bad translations becomes easier. Makes sense?
In the New Covenent, there are simply (2) primary principles:
1) Love God
2) Love People
& "Love works no ill..."
Paul wrote: "The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself as love".
