Beyond Basics: Equine Clicker Training is a mailing list dedicated to
exploring training approaches and philosophies that fit the spirit of
clicker training. The list explores a range of topics, from the
emotional effects of training to advanced mechanics and operant
conditioning theory to the spiritual aspects of the horse-human
relationship. Our goal is to understand not only how the mechanics of
reinforcement work but also to look Beyond the Basics and more towards
the spirit of Positive Reinforcement Training in order to incorporate
it into our training and the relationships we have with our horses.
The discussion will have 3 to 4 topics per month. It is important to
stay on topic to keep the discussions from wondering all over the place.
We welcome anyone to join and read our archives and files. The list
discussion is structured and kept strictly on topic. Before
participating, we ask that you be familiar with operant conditioning
definitions and clicker training. This is not a list for "newbie"
questions about clicker training or horses.
