RE: [BexarCo4Kinky] Need Wedding Band/DJ Referral

The Toman Brothers play a little of everything (country and classic rock, mostly) and are very good.  Great party band, a friend of mine used them for her wedding a couple of years ago and was very pleased.  They play around town some, so you can probably see them at a club before committing.  No idea of cost, but contact Randy Toman and strike a deal. I think this number's still good. Wish I could help, Dear Heart, but only "band" I know in the area is The Whoosits - and don't think country western is what you are aiming for!

You might ask Chris Vargas, in your building, as her husband, Mario, is heavily involved with the Shriners and I know they must have a list of great bands.  Will see if I can find her email address and send it to you.

Wish I could have been there for the services for BeBe and MIke - was there any information about what happened?  I'm convinced that something had to run out on the road - or be on the road - for Mike to swerve like that....  It's just so devastating.....  Yet, I know they are together and that is exactly what they wanted - could not envision one without the other.  Hope the family can heal after the shock.  The memories of the happy times and friends talking about all the good times should help!!!

Just had a call from my second/third grade teacher - she wants me and my Zydeco vest to join her (on keyboard) and one of her band fellows (guitar, harmonica, and drum - all at the same time) at the Alzheimer's Unit of Emmanuel Nursing Home tomorrow at 8:30 am and then again Tuesday at 2pm for the regular part of the Nursing Home.  She lifts my spirits by telling me that "they" all ask me to come and play - and adds that I make the show....  Makes me laugh - but I enjoy strolling around the room and putting the vest on some of the folks and having them strum on it or get behind them and play "around" them - it certainly adds sunshine to my life!!!!  Guess that's another reason I need to get serious about selling the house in San Antonio and moving up here for the major part of the year!  Will escape the hard winter months!!!

Take care - consider yourself hugged tightly!  ....and if you have a chance, I'd surely appreciate hearing about the gatherings for BeBe and Mike.  You're the best!

Hugz,
Karen

Sorry for the mass email, but it has it's uses...

A good friend is getting married around November 1 and needs a good
varitey band or DJ for the reception. Music range from Tony Bennett to
Kenney Chesney to Marilyn Manson. Any recommendations would be most
appreciated!

Thanks!

Phil
