I have 4 stories that written and I've sent three of them to my beta reader; as I've only finished the fourth one today, and I've only received one back and that was about a week and half ago.

Now that may not seem like a long time, but, I had sent the file to her about 2 1/2 weeks prior to that.

And at the moment, time is of the essence. I'd really like to be able to code them and put them on my website.

So, although I hate to do this as I really enjoy working with my beta reader, I'm looking for someone to look at the stories for me. I'll send along the URL to the first set of stories as its a series.

I'll also send an URL to a page on my website that has examples of how three other people beta'd one story for me.

I can't ask them to do these stories as they are outside the realm they beta for, that and I'm not even sure they watch Crossing Jordan.

I hope to find someone to help me out, the more people the merrier.

I should point out that the stories are alternative in nature and that they take place after the episode, "Scared Straight". Only the last story goes into R rated territory, the rest are G, PG, PG-13.

self-published "creative non-fiction" books (lesson the first: NEVER get
sucked into subsidy publishing!  Blearg.  Thus speaks the voice of bitter
experience.)  2 SF/F novels making the rounds to publishers and through
revision.  1 short story, "Why the Doctor is Fond of Cats", due to be
published in the upcoming "The Cat Who Walked Through Time II" (Doctor Who

Alright.  I know I've posted about this before.  But seeing as I

Hello all: This one isn't exactly fanfiction, it's an original semi-
mystery set in Toledo, Spain that was something I'd be working on for
a while, got set aside, and picked up and completed after taking a
community ed fiction writing class. It's rather lengthy, and I still
need to add a couple more segements that got glossd over during the
final working draft, and fix the typos. I've been procrastinating on
it because it's alredy 9,000 words long, and it still needs more.
But if anyone does beta original fiction, and is willing to tackle
it, please email me off list. It's about trust between two kids from
different walks of live, one city kid, one street kid, and the two
detectives who help thwart the bad guy.  Not a very good summary, but
I'm still working on it.

I joined hoping to find a beta reader for a very, very, VERY small
fandom: the Britcom "Waiting for God". My main focus is on
continuations of Harvey and Jane, with occasional detours to other
characters and to alternate episodes. I've also done one or two
pieces for "MASH" and would be willing to serve as a "MASH" beta if
need be-- but only up to about PG13; slash and other explicit stuff

(Marina) But so far the one I contacted ignored me, and the other has
yet to even acknowledge recieving the story. Which makes me nervous
given how many of my stories have been taken by beta's before.

But I am getting Desperate, my lists are not happy that I have yet to
post more. My webhost is pissed because I am past my deadline. And I
REALLY need someone to edit this before I send it in and show my
startlin incompitance.

Oh dear-- does that happen often [beta-piracy]? And how does one
guard against it? I had someone email me willing to beta "W4G" and so

I write as a relaxation tool and for my own personal pleasure.

Will you beta read?: Yes!  My main beta work is with grammar,
spelling, and style. However, I am an excellent sound board for
writers with writers block and need some help formulating an idea
for a story or if stuck on a story.

Fanfiction I will beta read: All of the above shows listed in my
favourite shows. But also SeaQuest, The Invisible Man and The Dead
Zone. But if your looking for story consistency with a particular
show or a particular character on a show. I am pretty knowledgeable
and up to date with Angel, Magnificent Seven, The Pretender and
Stargate. However I am at a slight disadvantage with those shows
still airing. I live in Australia so I haven't seen the new seasons
of most shows. I keep up to date with the major events that take in
the shows through oversea email buddies and web sites.

Ratings of fic I will read: G to NC-17, I do read slash but at the
moment I'm only really comfortable reading F/F.

However, my only problem is that due to the amount of shows I watch
certain pairings of characters in shows has become entrenched in my
brain to the point where I don't tend to read another fanfiction
unless it has the pairings I like. However, I can overcome for most
but some pairings I'm fanatical about. For these fandoms I well only
read or beta theses pairings and no others.
Angel/Buffy: Cordelia/Angel
JAG: Harm/Mac
Profiler: Sam/John
West Wing: Sam Seaborn orientated fanfic


Well, if you need a quick beta and you don't mind my fanfiction
tunnel vision for particular shows, then I ready and waiting. I try
to work fast, so depending on the length. I take between 3 day to a
little over a week for longer more indepth stories. Anything over
two weeks is considered unexceptable by me. Happy writing!!

drama, fluff, whatever. Word of warning, my weakness is humor fics/stories.
