Hello I'm new and I'm looking for an Inuyasha beta reader for my
story. The story is currently rated M or R because I've edited it to
put it on ff.net. The original story is rated NC-17 but I'm mainly
looking to a beta for the R version. The story features a Kouga/Kagome
pairing. If anyone is interested please let me know.

OK well my usual Beta has started school and no longer has the time
to go through the messes that I call fan fics, joking really, so I
was talking to my sis, Rachelle Ryan, and she suggested this site. So
here we are to get a hold of me IM me with Yahoo at dreamless_moon or
MSN with Aishi_Cc@... I'm logged is as long as I'm online or
just drop me a line at the above e-mail.

Title: The Jackal and The Cobra
Posted @: www.fanfiction.net
Chapters: 3 completed
Words: 10,394
Pages: 48
Rated: PG13
Show: Yu-Gi-Oh!
Type: Yaoi/Shounen-Ai aka Slash
Pairing: KaiJou aka Kaiba x Jounouchi/Joey only so far
Genre: Romance/Drama

Requirements: A Beta who knows the cast's Japanese names and
something about the last season duded 'The Egyptian Arch'. I prefer
the Japanese names though not the double u thing for Yugi who is not
in this fic so if you only know the dubbed names you may want to
skip. Uses some Egyptian mythology, which is gone over in the intros
and exits of each chapter since most people do not read what I do and
Reviewers ask.

Personal requests: I'd like someone who will add comments,
suggestions, and ask questions rather then just fixing grammar
mistakes and the like. I would prefer a KaiJou Otaku who would get
into this story but as long as you don't hate the paring al is well.
I have a few other, present set, KaiJou fics that need fixed so if
you want you can ask about that.

Overview: Jounouchi, Jou from now on, is talked into becoming a
Medjai for Atem by his buddy Honda and there meets the priest Seto
and learns very quickly Seto is pretty but cold. Through the three
completed chapters various characters from the show are added to
Jou's little world as he tries to get on Seto's good side which even
with Mokuba's help is a task in of itself. This fic will run up to
the big fight when priests are killed off and Atem dies but will
likely not run into the future unless bugged enough. All in all a
basic KaiJou with a twist not a lot people on FNN have used to my
knowledge but I have not read them all.

"He is spirited at least," Seto commented with a smirk,
"If the puppy survives a day with the trainers I say keep him."
Jounouchi growled. `Arrogant is putting it lightly. I'll show
him.'

This is just a clip I think sums up their first meeting
note Seto is talking to Atem just for a visual image there. You can
read the first 2 chapters on FFN without their corrections if you
want to read part of this fic before agree to Beta it just look up
Aishi-Cc who is me maybe you've read something of mine before?

Hello, I'm new here ^^

I'm a french girl who is willing to translate her fanfictions in
english. I don't speak/write english fluently, so I really need a
(very patient) beta reader.

I plan to translate my Prince of Tennis one-shots, mostly on the
pairing Oshitari/Hyotei. I'm looking preferably for a beta reader who
knows the fandom ^_^

Well, I write for ff.net! I have a couple of stories up: Potential in
Smallville and Project Slayer!

I have one for Potential in Smallville, but she only checks grammar
since she doesn't really watch either shows... I don't have one for
Project Slayer, though!

I'll be starting two other stories: an untitled Buffy/Dark Angel and
then Supernatural Chemistry, which is Buffy/Ats/Supernatural! Anyone
interested?

Hello,

I recently joined and it looks as if I'm going to need a grammar beta. My
original and back-up beta readers are both out of pocket at the moment. The
stories I am working on are for two universes, Star Wars and Lord of the
Rings. I am a het writer. Like I mentioned earlier, all I really need is a
grammar beta.

Thanks!

So, I am currently writing chapter 8 for a story of mine. I have a
beta, but she is only helpful with grammar and such which is great!
The problem is, she doesn't really know anything about the crossover.

It's a Buffy/Smallville crossover and the most my current beta knows
is Buffy is a slayer and Clark will become Superman. That's about it,
though she loves Spike.

But anyway, if anyone can read it over and see if I kept the story
canon thus far would be really helpful!

                                FIELD WORK

                         a gen Van Helsing novel

In this enthralling novel by Sis, Gabriel Van Helsing and
Friar Carl are given a mission to return to Transylvania to
investigate rumors of vampires. Their previous journey there had
been dangerous and life-threatening, but had ended with the death --
at last -- of Dracula. Or so they thought. Could Dracula have
actually survived? Is it he who is behind these new rumors of
attacks and bloodletting of the townsfolk? And what of the tales of
a giant werewolf-type beast that's roaming the countryside,
destroying all in its wake? Between the mysterious, well-trained,
weapons-carrying Van Helsing and bookish, continually-talking Carl,
can they discover the truth before it's too late?

Excerpt:

"Are you all right?" Carl wasn't sure wher that came from or
why he'd asked, but Van Helsing paused and looked at him with an
unreadable expression.
"Yes, Carl, I'm fine," Van Helsing said eventually. "Thank you
for asking." He looked like he meant it, but something flickered in
his eyes that seemed infinitely sad and resigned.
Carl experiences a moment's fury at Cardinal Jinette, who had
made all the right sounds about asking about Van helsing's state of
mind, but had obviously already decided to send him out in the field,
regardless of how the man felt. The idea that they were
all 'instruments of the Church' was a nice speech and nothing more.
Some 'instruments' got used more than others, and Van Helsing wasn't
so much an instrument as a weapon, treated much the same as one of
Carl's inventions.
Gabriel gave one of his rare grins, and smacked Carl on the
shoulder. "Now, get ready, and let's go see what's up. And this
time bring extra holy water."

                 CRESCENT OF STEEL AND DARKNESS

a gen CSI: New York / Without a Trace / Hellboy novel

In this amazing novel, deftly woven together by Nina A. Smith, a
dead Metropolitan Museum guard, a missing painting-and-sculpture
conservator and a stolen scimitar which might have magical and
demonic properties bring together the worlds of CSIs, the Missing
Persons Unit and demon-hunter Hellboy from the Bureau of Paranormal
Research and Defense, in order to find out what happened at the Met,
and stop evil before it starts. Strong personalities and specific
ideas of how the investigation should be conducted, not to mention
Hellboy, a demon himself, contribute to the tense atmosphere between
the groups -- until FBI agent Martin Fitzgerald disappears, literally
into thin air. Now the cops, agents and demon-hunters must work
together to rescue him before his sacrifice sets off a chain of
events from which the world will never recover. Don't miss this
wonderful tale!

Excerpt:

It was a tense and bewildered group of NYPD detectives that met
an apprehensive group of FBI agents as their cars pulled up before
the wrought-iron gates.
"It's good to see you here," Detective Taylor declared to Agent
Malone as they left their vehicles and recognized each other. "Now
maybe we'll get some answers."
Malone shrugged as he turned to look at the gates and the
immense brick lump of the building beyond. "Not from us."
"Why not? We got a call from the FBI asking us to be here
now." Taylor also looked toward the ugly edifice that squatted like
a resting boar behind the black metal bars. With a glance, he
indicated the modest sign identifying WASTE MANAGEMENT
SERVICES. "I'd really like to know why."
"Frankly, so would we," Malone replied. "We got a call, too.
He claimed to be from FBI special ops. No further explanation. If
there's a task force or special unit assigned to this case, it'd be
nice to be told about it, especially considering that a member of my
teams disappeared two hours ago in the course of this investigation."
Flack's eyes narrowed coldly. "Yeah, that was fun. Now I
really, *really* want to know who called us here -- and for what."
Among the seven of them, eyes met and hands began to reach for
weapons.
      Detective Bonasera's gaze had gone to the door of the building;
she was the first to see it open, and a small figure grow rapidly
larger as it approached. "Looks as if we're about to find out."

                          SNARKCASM

                      a slash House zine

Dr. Gregory House is an irreverent, snarky, controversial
doctor who trusts no one, least of all his patients (he believes they
all lie). He's devoid of bedside manner and wouldn't even *talk* to
his patients if he could get away with it. Dealing with his own
constant physical pain, he uses a cane that seems to punctuate his
acerbic, brutally honest demeanor. While his behavior can border on
antisocial, House is a maverick physician whose unconventional
thinking and flawless instincts have afforded him a great deal of
respect. An infectious disease specialist, he's a brilliant
diagnostician who loves the challenges of the medical puzzles he must
solve in order to save lives. Fellow doctor James Wilson has been
House's best friend for years, and now their friendship seems to be
growing, changing into something better, deeper. Most of these
stories have been previously posted, but this wonderful digest zine
has two brand-new tales written exclusively for this collection.
Crafted with wit and flair by Gena Fisher, this zine contains
intriguing stories of revenge, danger, personal demons, love -- and
snark.

Excerpt:

A FEAR OF FALLING by Gena Fisher

      "Jimmy--"
"I mean it, House. I'm tired of you ignoring things." He
leaned forward, coming to rest on his knees, hands surging over House
and plucking at his jacket, his shirt, pulling him closer until they
were nose to nose. Fire flashed in his normally distant chestnut-
colored eyes. "Like me."
"Wilson," House choked, but never go the chance to say more.
Wilson leaned in slowly, the snapping blaze of his eyes completely
filling House's field of vision. He knew what was coming, but still
the feathery brush of James' mouth to his shocked House, making his
breath escape in a moan that reverberated through his soul. He
clutched at Wilson's shoulders, his lips deepening the contact until
Wilson lay across his lap, arms buried behind House's back.
When they finally parted, House traced his tongue over the moist
surface of his lips, savoring the taste of James. "Wh-What just
happened here?" he stammered.
Wilson blushed, pulling back to sit on his heels. "I think this
is the part where I tell you Bobby is upstairs in the shower and it
was all a dream."
"You really need to stop watching TV Land," House said with a
snort.

In this heartpounding novel by JET, Jim goes missing and Blair
drives Simon crazy until he agrees to go looking for him. While they
frantically search for the Sentinel, Jim's captors demand that he
come work for their shadow organization, and when he refuses, he is

must go after Blair Sandburg. Hearing this, Jim decides to go into
the deepest zone he can, one he can't be roused from, knowing if he

Is Jim truly unreachable? Will he die before Blair can get to him?
How dangerous is a thwarted Brackett? Don't miss this amazing novel!

During the course of his interrogations, Jim had assembled

it scarcely seemed to matter. Second, they wanted his cooperation.
They expected Jim to assist them in some way. Again, the details
were vague. Third, they were obviously connected to the government.
Jim knew this almost instinctively. His torturers were too good, too
professional, not to have had goverenment-sponsored training.
Somehow, he had fallen into the hands of what he assumed to be a
shadow unit of one of the government's intelligence organizations, or
maybe a rogue, breakaway militia, and they knew his secret.
It was his greatest nightmare come true.
      Perhaps not quite his greatest.
At least, as far as Jim knew, Sandburg was safe. There had been
no mention of his Guide's name and no threats to his life, at least
to this point. For that, Jim was secretly grateful. Perhaps he
could still manage to get out of this alive. If not, then he
apparently was to be granted the small favor of dying, knowing that
for once, Sandburg hadn't been dragged into this along with him....

                           COAT TALES

                      a slash Firefly zine

Set 500 years in the future, Firefly takes place in the
furthermost reaches of the galaxy, in the wake of a civil war that
has turned the universe into a dark, paranoid place, ruled by a
totalitarian government called The Alliance. On a Firefly-class ship
called Serenity, Captain Mal Reynolds, a defeated soldier who opposes
the Alliance government, hurtles around the galaxy towards whatever
booty he can plunder, to keep fuel in his tanks and food on the
table. To earn a bit of extra cash, he and his crew take passengers
onboard to hitch rides around the galaxy, or any job they can find
that pays good coin. In this digest zine, these tales by the
talented J.M. Griffin explore the attraction and feelings between Mal
and Simon, the doctor on board ship, while the rest of the crew is
either aware of it or not, and continues on with trying to avoid
having the 'verse kill them without meaning to. Most stories have
been previously posted, but J.M. Griffin has written one tale
exclusively for this zine, which can't be found anywhere else!
Alternately funny, sad and dramatic, these stories are not to be
missed!

Excerpt:

DOUBLE-EDGED SWORD by J.M. Griffin

Simon screwedup his courage and stepped close to the captain's
side. Gently, he placed a hand on Mal's shoulder.
"Don't," Mal said, and he ducked out from under Simon's hand and
took a quick step away.
"Captain?" Simon said to Mal's back. "Mal? Is there something
else wrong?"
Mal shook his head sharply. "What, besides the fact we lost a
huge amount of money in a double-cross I should have seen coming?
Nah, it's just...it's just...."
      "What?"
Mal spun on his heel, coming round to face Simon. His face was
pale and he appeared to be holding himself in check. For a moment,
Simon thought the captain was going to belt him one. It wouldn't be
the first time, or the second, for that matter. But it would be the
first time in a long time. Simon had to force himself not to take a
protective step back when Mal huffed out a breath.
"It's been a while, Simon," the captain ground out.
"What?" Now Simon was totally nonplussed. He swept Mal from
head to toe with his eyes in an effort to figure out what was going
on. At first he didn't see it.
      And then he did.
Trying hard not to smile, he stepped back in close to Mal. "For
me, too," he said softly.

                     RETURN TO MORIA

a gen Lord of the Rings novel

Five years have passed since Sauron's fall, and Gimli has
decided he must return to the Mines of Moria to repair the tomb of
Balin and to recover the book that told the history of the colony.
In this engaging novella by Sheila Paulson, accompanied by Aragorn,
Legolas, Faramir, Merry and Pippin, he sets off on an adventure. But
what dangers await the brave party in the deep places of the world?
An old enemy lurks in the mine, prepared to seek revenge. Who does he
threaten? And what hope will there be of escape?

Excerpt:

Faramir spoke too softly for his words to carry beyond
Legolas. "We are not alone here."
"I sense that as well," Legolas replied. "They are yet content
to watch and wait."
      "For reinforcements?" Faramir speculated.
"Or to observe what we do here."
They gazed around the chamber, positioning themselves back to
back in the automatic manner of warriors who have fought in many
battles.
Then, in the shadows, something stirred.
The sudden whoosh of displaced air would have been too soft to
have been noticed immediately by any but an elf. Legolas ducked
instinctively and pushed back at Faramir to thrust him from the path
of an arrow.
Yet it was not an arrow. Faramir's body jerked and he dropped
to the dusty floor, the stone that had struck his head clattering
down beside him. Even before Legolas could bend to snatch him up for
a retreat, another stone came and he ducked.
But it it proved not one stone but two, the second flung so
immediately after the first that to avoid the first he had moved
directly into its path. Pain flared and he staggered and fell, his
senses reeling. Even as he opened his mouth to cry out a warning to
the rest of his band, he was surrounded by orcs....

comes a digest-sized zine of previously posted tales about the entire

Mal's troops, and much more. From sadness and tears to laughter and
love, these stories will hold you spellbound to the very last page.

Excerpt:

SALVAGE MISSION by inlovewithnight

"That's him. Hey, dummy! Got someone here to see you."
The figure didn't so much as look up. It was tapping away at
something inside the machine with a constant, mechanical rhythm.
*Tap, tap, tap.* Pause. *Tap, tap, tap.*
"You hear me boy?" Perry called, striding closer and kicking at
a clump of dirt lying on the floor. It flew past the man's head, but
he still didn't move. *Tap, tap, tap.*
Mal took a step forward. "Jayne Cobb." The tapping stopped.
The figure went very still. "Do you remember who I am?"
Slowly, stiffly, the figure got to its feet. The height was
right, and the broadness of the shoulders. Definitely a big man,
like he was looking for. The wrench hung loosely from his hand. He
didn't turn around.
"Jayne," Mal said quietly, taking another step. "Jayne, it's
me. It's Mal."
"Captain." The voice was rough enough to make Mal wince in
sympathy at the grit in his own throat. Six years of that, and
apparently not talking all that time to boot. No wonder it sounded
like it needed oiling. "I didn't tell 'em. Didn't tell 'em
nothin'. Swear on m' life. M' mama's life."
"I know, Jayne." Maybe the tightness in his throat wasn't all
from the grit. "I know you didn't tell."
He turned around then, stiffly. Mal imagined he could hear the
bones creaking. It was Jayne, all right; godawful thin, big scar
across his face, hair and beard rough and matted and eyes staring
through things instead of looking at them proper. But it was Jayne.
"They tried real hard to make me," he grated, looking off at
something over Mal's shoulder and near the ceiling. "Lots of tricks
up their sleeves. But I did 'em one better." His gaze wandered to
Mal's face and focused for a moment. "Don't even remember what it is
I didn't tell 'em. Pushed it to the back of my head so I wouldn't
let it slip. Ended up pushing it clean out. But I didn't tell."
The focus faded, and his eyes settled on the floor somewhere near
Mal's boots.
"No, you didn't. Wouldn't be standing here if you had." He
took another tiny step, trying to catch Jayne's attention, get his
eyes back again. Wanting to thank the man for taking the fall and
saving their lives. For winding up here, grounded on a rock after
the Alliance chewed him up and tossed him out with the garbage, while
the rest of them stayed up in the sky with Serenity.
"Wanted you to know that," Jayne mumbled, turning back to the
machine. He lurched back to his knees, settled himself, lifted the
wrench again. *Tap, tap, tap.*
