OK, here goes!
Name: Alice
Alias: Blakaliss
Fave Shows: Lots of English shows, most sci-fi though strangely
enough not Star Trek or The X-Files. I really should be more specific
but I can't think of any certain shows.
Fave Writers: I don't really have any, I haven't been doing this for
that long!
Fave Actors/Actresses: Um, I can't really think of any at the moment.
Eek!
Webpage address: I don't have one at the moment but I'm working on it.
Do you write fan fiction?: Of course :) but I'm currently in the
middle of writers block as you can probably tell by this posting.
Do you beta read?: I try my best to :) I'm generally not so good on
content, but I'll try my best with spelling/grammar though I'm from
England so if you're American, some of my <ahem> contractions may be
a little weird!
Ratings of fic I'll read: Anything under NC-17 as I'm only 16 and
don't want to *infringe* on any copyrights (not that I really care,
but some people care a *lot*)

Anyway, that's the boring introduction of me, Alice!

Hi to all fanfic authors out there,

I've been giving a bit of thought recently to the old 'not enough
feedback' problem and I came up with an idea

http://www.geocities.com/ficfeedback

It won't be fully operational until mid-June but I thought I should
ask for opinions, comments and questions before it gets started. I'm
especially interested in your opinion on whether this site and its
contents are a good idea as, so far, it has all been my own creation
and I may be in need of an urgent reality check!

Thanks in advance,

Hello everyone. I am writing my first Fan-fic story and am looking
for someone that would beta-read a "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" story
for me. It is going to be about Willow and Spike finding out that
they knew each other from the past. You can read the first part
below
to see if it is the type of story you might be intersted in
beta-reading for me. You can send your answer to me at:
silvercat19@...
Thank you for taking your time in reading this message.

Title: Someone From The Past (part 1)
Author: Robyn
Rating: PG
Spoilers: Season 4
Disclaimer: all characters belong to Joss
Notes: words in < > means someone's thought
Feedback: Please, this is my first fic and would love to know what
you
think of it.

Part 1
Spike sat in a chair at the watcher's house. The group was
there trying to find out how to kill the latest demon in town. Spike
looked up from his book at the people before him. Xander and Anya
were on the coach with some of the old demonolgy books. <If they
were any closer, they'd be on top of each other> Spike thought. Buffy
was with Riley patroling, which left Willow and Giles. Giles was
looking in an old book that was about ready to fall apart. Spike then
moved his eyes on Willow. She was in front of her labtop. She was
wearing one of her "fuzzy" pink shirts. <Oh bloody hell> Spike
thought as shifted in his seat. <The only reason I'm here is because
that stupid slayer threatened to take my blood supply> Spike
complained to himself for about 20 minutes when Willow stood up from
her chair. "I've got it!" She cried. The gang stopped what they were
doing and looked at her. Willow looked around the room and told them
about what she found. When she was finished Giles took his glasses off
and got up. "Brilliant Willow, now all we have to do is go and tell
Buffy. Giles then turned to Xander, "Xander, you and Anya can . . ."
"Can leave now" Anya replied while getting up. Giles was taken back
by her remark. "But . . ." Giles mutterd. Anya started to pull Xander
off the coach. "Anya!" Xander replied. "What have I told you about
interrupting others when they're talking?" "Well, he said he found
what he wanted. That means we can go." Anya said which caused
Xander to reply with "You could have waited till Giles was done
talking." and the two continued to argue.
Giles finally got up and said, "I hate to interrupt, but someone
must go out there and tell Buffy." Anya looked around the room for a
reason not to get Buffy and just go. She spotted Willow. "How about
Willow?" Willow looked at Anya and was ready to speak when Anya
replied, "I mean, she found the info, so she should go." Xander was
shocked at the remark. "You mean alone? Do you know how many
nasties would make a Dine-In-Willow if they every got a hold her?"
Again Anya and Xander started to argue. Giles rubbed his head with
the back of his hand before putting his glasses back on.
Spike finally got fed-up. "Bloody hell, I'll do it." He
yelled. Everyone stopped and looked at him. "Hey, its better then
watching these two gobble like chickens," he said as he pointed to
Xander and Anya. Spike walked over to go get his black duster.
Xander looked at Spike questionly, "Your going to go and tell Buffy?"
Spike looked back at Xander "Sure, I'll tell the slayer everything
she needs to know." Spike replied with a cocky grin and his British
accent. He opened the door and started out. Giles watched Spike
with doubt that he would tell Buffy the right "everything." He then
looked to the group of slayeretts. "Someone needs to go with him to
make sure he really does go to tell Buffy and all." "Okay, lets go"
Xander said while he was heading for the door. "Why us" Anya said,
not making an effort to move. "Because if we don't . . ." Xander
replied and the couple rambled on. Giles roled his eyes and looked
at the ceiling and then back to the yelling couple. Clearing his
throat to get the groups attention, he was preparing to speak when
Willow then stood up with her hands flying to her head. "Fine I'll
go. I just hope he hasn't gotten that far." She yelled and then ran
out the door after the blond vampire.

like one of the best Buffy stories I've seen all year.

Hi all! I'm writing my first Buffy-fic, and I'm looking for someone
willing to beta-read for me. Actually, depending on the reception it
gets this story might very well end up being a trilogy, but if someone
wants to just read the first story that's fine too!

The story's main focus is on Giles and Cordelia, strange I know, but I
like the less conventional 'ships. :) I don't think anything in it goes
over an "R", but just to be on the safe side I'll put it at NC-17.

If you'd be interested, please e-mail me at

Although I have always a long time fan of gargoyles,
and despaired when they cancelled the show,
I cam back to Gargoyles when I found the Timedancer Saga.
My stuff except, for part 7,can be found on Jeb's Gargoyles
fanfic Archive. or on my site. <G>

With that said, I've got another crossover piece that I've just
started, its a crossover, with Buffy: the Vampire slayer.
Written mostly from Xander's perspective.
Third season of Buffy, kinda.
2nd season of Gargole's from 'the episode "Hound of Ulster."
   A sort of extrapolation.
I've called "Ill Met by Moonlight."

Banshee,in human form, making up for past misdeeds is
confronted by the Weird Sisters into fullfilling the
prophecy of Unification, three races will become one.
It's missing a few scenes, and it just in draft form
at the moment.

If there's someone out there who's interested in
  going over this, please reply.

    Thanks, Karrenia

Fic Feedback
http://www.geocities.com/ficfeedback

-----------------------------------------------------
Feedback: lots of people want it, not enough give it.
It's one of those 'facts of life'.

There are thousands of fanfiction authors across the web who work
very hard in creating new adventures for our favourite characters.
They start writing for their own pleasure, but they keep writing for
the satisfaction of knowing that there are people who enjoy and
appreciate what they've written.

Fic Feedback is designed to help fanfiction authors who aren't
receiving the intelligent, constructive feedback they deserve. All
they have to do is submit their story in the same way as they would
to a mailing-list or a website, it will be passed onto one of our
readers and feedback results!

A.Aaronson

-----------------------------------------------------
Fic Feedback is now fully operational for Buffy the Vampire Slayer,
Angel and Roswell fics as of the 10th of June 2000. Please make sure
you read both the Feedback and the Guidelines pages before
submission.

Also, our Links page is looking a little bare. If you're a webmaster
who'd like to set up a reciprocal link please contact us at
ficfeedback@.... Even if you don't have a website, any
appropriate ones you could suggest would be most appreciated.

I need a beta reader for a short, humorous Highlander
piece. It's not a crossover, but some knowledge of the

two original Immortals that I used on a previous story

This is a sort of warning. This group has no moderator (ie, to my knowledge
the moderator is on a long-term holiday and I'm not sure if she's coming

Well, if a spammer invades, I advise someone else starts a Beta_Unlimited2

Title: Revelations
Author: Skyler
Rating: PG-13 to NC-17 (NC-17 in later stories in this series)
Content: Graphic Violence, perhaps a few graphic language points
Spoilers: None (This story takes place during the Angel Series but the story
ideas are completely my own)
Summary: Someone's new in town and causing defenses to heighten in Los
Angles. Not only among the human world but among the demon world as
well...and that someone is watching Angel...but why?
Disclaimer: Unfortunately, I don't own any of the characters involved with
Angel. They belong to Joss Whedon, the WB, and Fox.

Prologue
Angel lashed out with an upper cut of his own, the vampire landing spread
eagled on his back with a sickening thud. Angel watched cautiously as the
vampire regained its composure, wiping the blood off its chin. The vamp
looked down at the blood staining the back of its hand. Angel took that
moment to make a funny. "I think you need to wipe your mouth...your
bleeding." With a growl of frustration, the vamp charged, intending on
ending the life of the much older vampire.
Above that very alley, two stories up, where the wind drifted ever so
gently through the night, the figure watched from atop its perch, studying
this, this vampire with a soul. How amusing he was. Doing the world a
favor. Had he no logical morals? Ever since they had arrived, they had been
studying this character. Not for competition, but...for a challenge. Not
for physical aspirations, but a mind bender, something to do in the off time.
What little he knew. What little he knew about the night and the demon
world. He based his world on vampires, simply demons, hookers. But that's
where it stopped for him. But the shadowy figure shook their head. Oh, what
little he truly knew.
The stake went smoothly through the chest cavity of his charging
opponent, and slickly through it's heart. The dust settled at his feet,
Angel staring at it for a few moments. Glancing around, Angel turned down
the alley, heading back toward the crowded streets of L.A. But midway
through the alley, his vampire instinct kicked in. He felt as if...he was
being watched. Turning to look over his shoulder, his instincts directed him
to look at the rooftops, finding them as they had always been: abandoned and
deteriorating. Narrowing his eyes, he looked harder, but found nothing.
Only the sounds of emptiness. Stuffing his hands back into the pockets of
his duster, he continued on his way, on his mission to save the lives that
inhabited this very city from the very things they had no idea about. Their
feet hit the ground firmly as he rounded the corner, walking out of sight.
Their hand rested on the cracked asphalt, keeping them balanced from the
two-story jump. Standing up slowly, the figure's leather duster slipped over
its hips, resting inches above the ground. Looking through the viewing slot
of its helmet, the figure listened to his footsteps as they faded into the
many that walked beyond that alley. The footsteps of the oblivious.

Part 1: Welcome to Los Angeles

Cordelia leaned back in her desk chair, ever the proper receptionist.
The nail file glided along her perfectly tamed nails, Cordelia occasionally
blowing the remnants off. The sound of the elevator door caught her
attention, knowing that her boss had woken up for a midday "snack" so to
speak. She pulled her feet down off the desk as soon as she heard the
ancient elevator come to a squeaking halt. "Good afternoon"

Angel headed toward his coffee marker without thinking twice about his
answer. "Good morning Cordelia"

Cordelia glanced at her watch. "I don’t know if you’ve noticed but it’s
almost three o’clock in the afternoon. Man, you vampires sure lose track of
time fast."

"Well" Angel took a sip of the black coffee, spoke in almost a whisper. "I’ve
busy as off late."

Nodding her head, she downloaded a false smile on her face. "Right, reading,
researching. How fun that must be. How I wish I had your intellect. Doubt I
ever will."

Angel released a deep-throated chuckle. "One day Cordy."

The office door opened, Wesley walking in sipping a cup of his own coffee
seemingly chipper. "Good morning everyone."

Cordelia looked at him as if she was the only one with any sense. "Oh no. Not
you too."

Setting his suitcase down, Wesley gave her a worried glance. "Why? What’s
wrong?"

"It’s not morning!" She stated in her whiny voice. "It’s 3 o’clock! In
the
after noon. De la tarde!"

Wesley looked down at the watch on his left wrist. "you’re right. It’s been
such a slow day I’ve seemed to have lost track of time."

Cordelia flopped back in her seat. "Who are you telling. Which brings up
another thing. Since we’re having such a slow day and the world’s not about
to come to an end...I was wondering if I could possibly ask for a day off."

"Absolutely not-"

"Sure" Angel interrupted Wesley before he started rattling on about
responsibility.

Turning to Angel, he started at him in shock. "What?"

"Great. There’s a sale going on a Bloomindales's. Half off on everything.
Which means more for me and...more for me." Cordelia gathered her essentials,
intent on leaving that place.

"But Angel-"

"Bye guys. Oh and don’t wait up guys, there’s a clearance at The Rave"
Cordelia warned. "Bye"

"Cordelia-" Wesley got the sound of the door closing. He looked at Angel who
just looked casually back at him. "Well you know that we won’t have a
receptionist all day."

Angel shrugged. "Yes we will"

"Who? You hired someone else?"

"No, you" He simply stated.

Wesley was taken back. "Me?"

"Yeah. It’s not like we’ve been getting any calls as of late anyway.
What’s
the big deal? Can’t handle a telephone?"

"No" Wesley was quick to defend. "I think I can handle calls from rich,
rude...people. Yes, I think I can handle that."

"Good" Angel slapped him on the back. "Get started." Angel headed into his
private office.

Wesley adjusted the collar of his oxford shirt, moving around the
cluttered desk to sit into the still warm chair. Looking at all the papers
all over the place, and the little dinky items that should’ve even been
there. Sighing he groaned. "I never asked for a desk job."
*****************
The streets of Los Angeles weren’t as crowded as usual which would give
him a better view of the demon he had been tracking. This thing had killed
two people already. For Angel, that was two people too much. Better yet,
those were two lives he could have saved. So, he blamed himself. Wesley and
Cordelia tried to say to him all the time that he couldn’t save everybody all
the time. He was just one man. He wasn’t a man either. He was a demon with
the face of a man. A soul tortured by the killings of the demon. Killings
that plagued his thoughts and dreams. He couldn’t remember whether it was
hundreds or hundreds of thousands of dead souls on his tab, but the if he was
infamous for it, the latter was probably the one he should refer to. So much
pain he had inflicted, and so much he had endured. And so much more pain he
had to look forward to.
***************

Following him had become such a routine that he was picking up on his every
move. Listening to his thoughts was sometimes interesting, listening to the
voices of the dead and the undead. Sometimes even Angelus the demon himself
would speak and taunt Angel with memories of things important to him. Which
usually revolved around one person when it came to taunting: Buffy. Some old
girlfriend she must have been. Someone he loved and lost. Love was for the
weak. He had no time for it.
*****************

Angel hit the asphalt hard, unneeded wind getting knocked from him. Forcing
his ridges along his facial features, he turned to glare back at his
attacker, the green eyes of the demon steadied on him. The yellow horns
seemed to worn, but still could cause some problems unless he wanted to
suffer some stab wounds to the stomach. Jerking a leg out, he took the demon
off its feet forcing himself up. With his horns pointed, it charged him,
Angel sidestepping and sending a stiff kick to it’s back forcing it to the
ground. The demon immediately got back up, charging Angel before he had a
chance to move. Angel flew across the alley, hitting hard against a rusty
dumpster. Angel watched as the demon stalked him, approaching and looked as
if it was going to finish him. The demon suddenly stopped a few feet away,
smelling the air for something. It surely had a better sense of smell than
he did because he could only smell the rotting food in the dumpster behind
him. It looked up and froze. Angel followed its point of view, only seeing
the empty roof of an old building. It hissed, and ran heading full speed.
Groaning loudly, Angel pulled himself to his feet, the back lacing his back
like spikes. As he was getting up, he stopped, as he heard a fighting. It
lasted a few brief seconds before giving way to a growl and a crack.
Then...silence.

Using the wall he pulled up, then walking toward the end of the alleyway.
Coming to the end, he carefully turned his head around the corner and
stopped. There it was, his demon lying there is a heap. Approaching it, he
saw no movement, heard no heartbeat or breathing. Carefully, he moved around
in front of it. Its neck was what caught his eye. It was clean broken. But
that didn’t concern him to much either. What concerned him was that the
demon was killed...but he didn’t do it.

Hi,

I'm in desperate need for a beta reader, someone that can not only help
me with my atrocious spelling and pathetic grammar but is also willing
to offer continuity and storyline advice.

I'm working on a Xena WP story with a maybe PG-13 to an R rating a lot
depends on what part of the country your from. It's loosely based on the
show in that same timeline, but the story is all mine.

Anyway, if you are interested in lending a hand to a rank amateur on his
first X & G story please contact me off list at:

keeper444@...

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Excuse me folks,

I'm fairly new on the list and I haven't really seen any mail on this
list, but I'm seeking anyone that can help me out.

I'm looking for someone to be a beta reader for a Xena & Gabrielle story
I'm doing. It would probably have an "R" to "NC-17" rating for violence
and some sex.
If you can help me out with spelling, grammar, and possibly story
suggestions, please let me know.

I'd really hate to give up on these stories now but I refuse to post
them without the benefit of a beta.

Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.

I've written fanfic before in the BtVS fan-dome and I know how
invaluable this step is is the development of a story.

(sorry for the crosspost)

ANNOUNCEMENT
Beta Reader Appreciation Day on October 13th

Do you remember the last story that made you smile, sigh, gasp, cry or even
think? Do you remember the author and title? Good.

Go back to post 0 of that story anyway, scroll down the archival notes and the
disclaimers, past the summary, there - notes and thanks to the betas.

Betas, even the best author needs them.

For first thoughts on a new story idea, for judging the credibility of a
background, a character, a move, for encouragment during the long weeks of
writing a 100+ page story, for spotting holes, for keeping the authors on track
when they are in danger of losing the focus of their story, for convincing them
something just does not work, for nitty gritty grammar fixes, for chocolate
covered Jedi at four in the morning...

Every author needs and wants different things from her betas, but whatever it
is, they always want it NOW. When a new story is burning a hole in your pockets
you don't give a damn that it's midnight in Down Under or wherever your betas
live. And you don't care that it takes a while to read some 50 pages, you just
have to know if it's good.

But betas have lives too. They do what they do for quite a number of reasons,
devotion to the fandom always being one of the most important. And they all have
this overwhelming desire to share, to give freely
whatever they can to make a story better, to help an author through the
obstacles and traps of writing.

Devoted betas are as important for a thriving fandom as talented authors.

It is about time to take a minute and thank all those betas working hard in the
background. Therefore October 13th shall be the Beta Reader Appreciation Day.

We encourage all authors to tell their betas on that day how much their work is
needed and valued. We encourage everybody to thank the betas on that day,
because we make the story, but they make it good.

We are also putting together a website dedicated to betas, which is still
heavily under construction, since all committee members...well, have lives too.

Please visit us at: http://devoted.to/BRAD

Among other things you'll find banners there. By putting them up on your own
sites you can help us spread the word.

You can also help us by passing this letter on to all lists you think might be
interested in the project. Help us to make October 13th a memorable day for
eveybody, betas, authors, readers in all fandoms.

If you want to do even more, for example help us with the site or have more
ideas, we have our own little list at egoups now. We are a friendly bunch and
always welcome more help.

I need a beta for what is going to be a longish project. I'm working
on a story piece-meal and it will probably take a good two or three
months to finish. I'm looking for someone to offer input and advice,
and tell me where they see the story going.

This story is the next installment in my 'Shadows & Light' universe
and it is the sequel to "A Union of Souls." This universe is a
crossover between Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, and The Tomorrow
People. For more information, please visit my website
(http://www.alternate-realities.net).

If anyone has limitless patience and is willing to work with me,
please contact me!

Hey, everyone!

I just joined the list. Now, before I give any other info (and forget
why I'm writing this message in the first place ^^; <L>), I'm looking
for a beta-reader for a Buffy fic I just finished. It's a songfic,
rated about PG 13 (there are implications of violence, but nothing
graphic), and the main character is Drusilla. So, needless to say, it's
a little strange. ^~ I could use someone who could give me C&C on a
couple of parts I'm not too sure I want to change or not. Any help
would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

So, now for the rest of my info! I think I'll just copy and paste the
template from the welcome message in here - it seems like the easiest
way.

Name or Alias: Rubeus

Fav shows: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Malcolm in the Middle,
Daria, and various anime

Fav writers of fanfiction: Hmm... I'm honestly not sure, anymore.

Fav actors and actresses: James Marsters, Eliza Dushku and virtually all
of the rest of the BtVS and Angel casts, Angelina Jolie, Ben Affleck,
Ryan Phillipe, Nick Stahl

Webpage address: http://www.geocities.com/rubeus-chan/

Do you write fanfiction?: Yep, constantly, but I only post the ones I
like especially for one reason or another.

Do you beta-read: I don't beta for anyone, currently, but I'm very much
willing to start!

The fanfiction you will beta read: Anything for spelling and grammer;
Buffy, Angel, and probably some others I'm forgetting right now (^^;
I'll let you know if I think of them) I know well enough to beta fully.
If anyone wants to know which anime I'll beta for, just mail me and
ask! I don't know if anime fic is allowed to be posted on this list or
not, but, either way, I'd be glad to beta it for anyone who's
interested!

The ratings of fiction you will beta read: Anything. G to NC17. It's
all good.

So, there you have it! A basic little breakdown of me. Kinda. ^^
Heeheehee.
Anyone can go ahead and start sending me fics to be beta-ed whenever you
want! And, once again, if anyone would be kind enough to beta my fic, I
would be eternally greatful.

Thank you muchly!

~ Rubeus

Hello. :) I just signed up to this list, and thought I'd introduce
myself. My name is Sarah, and I love to read good fanfic. :) I also
love to do those little sideways smilies all over my emails. :):)

Anyway, I also have a fanfic, going pretty slowly now, that needs
betaing. I write mostly for Farscape and Pitch Black, but I love any
genres that are well written. So, if you're interesting, email me. :-)

Hi everyone,

I just joined the list a few minutes ago, because I was looking for ( you
guessed it ) a beta reader. I write mostly Buffy fanfiction and tend to focus
on Buffy/Spike although the occasional Buffy/Lindsey or other pairings turn
up every once in a while. Besides Buffy I also write X-Men fanfiction that
relates to the movie and is mostly Rogue/Logan. While my Buffy stories are
usually very long, most of the other fan fiction consists of shorter pieces.
With english being my second language I need help with grammar mostly and
occasionally with spelling as well. However any other help concerning plot
holes, characterizations and the like are also very much appreciated. Oh and
yeah, I do write NC-17. So if anyone would be willing to beta for me, I'd
really, really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance for your consideration [ gosh am I polite today, or what?
;-) ]

Kereia

  Name or Alias: Kereia

Fav shows: Angel, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Pretender, Highlander, X-Men
(movie & cartoon ), Stargate, La Femme Nikita

Fav writers of fanfiction: Saber Shadow Kitten, Melissa Flores, Diebin,
Donna, Zero, Chelle.

Fav actors and actresses: James Marsters, Peter Wingfield, Roy Dupis, Amanda
Tapping, Anna Paquin, Hugh Jackman, Elizabeth Gracen, Whoppi Golderg, Andrea
Parker

  Webpage address: http://www.crosswinds.net/~moonlightspike/index1.html

  Do you write fanfiction?: Yep.

Do you beta-read: Never done before, but I'd love to if need be.

The fanfiction you will beta read: Buffy, Angel, Stargate, because these are
the only shows where I really watched every episode. So that's were I can
probably help the most.

The ratings of fiction you will beta read: From G to NC-17
