This group is for owners of Bernina mechanical and electronic sewing machines. It is a place to discuss our older, non-computerized machines and the earliest computerized ones, as well as all sewing-related topics.
Our name was created by Liz, one of our members. It refers to the fact that many of our earliest members had sewing machines ending with the number 30 - e.g. 530, 730, 830, 930, 1030, etc. - and of course, many of us are thirty or thirty "something" though neither is a requisite for joining our group. :-)
We learn from one another. We feel free to discuss our differing opinions, experiences, and ways of doing things. We agree to disagree if necessary, but with politeness and respect for individuals and the variety of ways that one thing can be properly and successfully done. We also write with respect for one another's feelings.
Our rules are few:
We tolerate no flaming and no disrespect both in group mail or in private messages connected to group discussions. Doing either can result first in being placed on moderation, and second, being unsubscribed from the group. If you experience problems, email the group owner.
We do not tolerate those few who join this and other groups for the purpose of spreading spam, scams, etc. We warn them that they will be immediately banned, and reported to Yahoo. Email addresses can be traced by professionals in the field.
We are a happy, helpful group of Bernina/quilting/sewing lovers. You are welcome to join us.
