Bemis Park is located on the north side of Cuming street from 33rd to Glenwood Ave. The neighborhood extends from 33rd to 40th, Cuming North to Hamilton. The first house in the neighborhood, was built in the 1889. Other houses were built slowly, but filled in rapidly in the early 20th century.

The neighborhood and the association are able to claim many "first's" in Omaha. Bemis Park was the first subdivision laid out following the contours of the land. Bemis Park Neighborhood Association (BPNA) was the first in the city to incorporate. Bemis Park was the first neighborhood to seek re-zoning to all residential. BPNA was the first Association to raise funds for and install lights in the park. The Bemis area has long been associated with change and innovation.
