Is the word I received today from a classmate. I don't know which hotel is 'the

I have had mindspring now for a little over a month now, and been very happy
with them.  I am not sure what they offer now, but it's $59 a month.  Free
Installation, modem , and ethernet card with a 6 month commitment.

When I do the test on dslreports.com or 2wire.com my speed is around
1200K/s.

So would I David. I emailed to those listed with Classmates.com and only
Bob Donahue responded. I am in email contact with John Comerford on this.
But as yet haven't come up with any information. I've had a webpage in
search engines for many months with no responses. By using the web the
fact that the class is scattered across the country should not matter.

Did anyone go to the school comm. meeting tonight . The arrogance of the
paid school administrators was very evident.
although they can not discuss certian matters regarding staff. it was
evident that the process. needs a look at.
It appeared that there was a personel issue with the Athletic Director and
not his ability to dod the job.
Should we be looking at the top paid at the school dept ?

The main reason I signed up for Concentric was that they offer four
fixed IP addresses along with the service.  This let me set up a mail,
DNS, and Web server in my house without worrying about having its
address change (a la broadband and presumably some DSL providers).

I have had BellAtlantic DSL in our house since January.  It has worked
fine, They delivered and installed as promised and it was up and running
first time.

$49.00 moonth 90 up, approx 700 down - $100 install fee.

WOW that's a lot !

I won't know till next Tuesday what kind of connection speed I get with
Mindspring (around 800K download (maybe more) and 300K upload I think), it
only costs is $50 a month.. and they give you 20 hours of analog(modem)
usage a month too.  The whole process will last three weeks, fingers crossed
that everything goes ok next week. No Installation or hardware cost, BUT
there is a six month commitment.


AOL (I hate 'em), but they told me when I canceled their service that they

guess it's worth looking into.

I believe you are correct, that there are no broadband providers
serving Belmont.  However, you can get DSL from various companies.
I've been quite happy with Concentric's DSL in the month or so I've
had it.

As a note, Flashcom offers cheaper service than most other DSL
providers -- there is a reason for this.  If you check the DSL
newsgroup (comp.dcom.xdsl), you'll see that about 1/3 of the traffic
is complaints about Flashcom....

I have found out that mindspring.com is offering DSL in our area.  I get
service on 5/09, so I won't know how good until then .  Hey if you get them

While I appreciate the improvements to the listserve and the new direction
that has been taken with eGroup, I was sorry to see every subscriber's email
address embedded in one email. One careless action could make those
addresses available to people I do not necessarily want to have
communication with.

I know we see the addresses one at a time, in communications to the
listserve and to others, but I think that some kind of blind c.c would be a
better idea in the future.
