Thank you all for the good advice! I was able to get some of the right sized
shavings at the Belmont Pet Store -- the chicks are not eating it -- and I am
very enthused about the paper shredding idea for future bedding needs -- there's
a nice little shredder on Craigslist that I'm pursuing ...
