At least 5 artists from our pagan and magickal community are participating at Artomatic (http://artomatic.org) this year! Artomatic, an arts extravaganza featuring hundreds of local artists — visual artists, musicians, dancers, filmmakers, and many more. Nine floors of creativity!
Showing together on the 4th Floor are Angela Raincatcher, Eric Eldritch, and Alyson M. Olander! All three artists integrate their creative expression into their spiritual practice. Angela creates mixed media shrines; Eldritch has been reflecting on the Green Man energy in his life; and Alyson's quilts focus on patterns and cycles found in nature. All three artists will be on-site during Meet the Artist Night on Saturday, June 13, starting at 7:00p.m.
Performing music and spoken word are Laura Craig Mason aka Shining Spider on Saturday, May 30, 6:00pm in the Speak Easy Lounge and Bethany Moore aka Beatnik Betty at various times (see http://www.artomatic.org/user/1350 for specifics).
Artomatic is open from May 29 to July 5. Fridays and Saturdays, 12 noon – 1 a.m.; Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays 12 noon – 10 p.m; closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
LOCATION: 55 M St, SE (at Half Street) in D.C.’s Capitol Riverfront neighborhood. Right above the Navy Yard Metro ballpark exit (green line), a block from Nationals Stadium.

***************** PILGRIMAGE RETREAT TO BLESS THE SOURCE OF THE POTOMAC RIVER OPEN EVENT
Friday, March 20 - Sunday March 22, 2009 Time: Friday evening - Sunday afternoon Location: Berkeley Springs, WV & Fairfax Stone, WV
Join us for our 6th annual pilgrimage to the source of the Potomac River. The Potomac River provides most of the drinking water supply in the Metropolitan DC region. At our SpringBlessing Rite, we welcome the return of spring and bless the running waters that nurture our local environment. During this time of early spring,
when the snow is still on the ground but green is beginning to sprout,
we take a spiritual journey to the sacred source of our soul's energy
and reflect on the next stage of our life's path.
Friday evening, we gather in a cabin near Berkeley Springs, West
Virginia (about 2.5 hours from the DC metro area), for food and
fellowship. Saturday morning after yoga and a home-cooked breakfast, we proceed to the
Fairfax Stone in West Virginia. At this traditional source of the Potomac,
we sing, pray, and make offerings to the spirit of the river that she
may flow strong and clear, bringing abundance and love to our region. Sunday morning, we enjoy a leisurely breakfast and a nature walk before heading home.
Please note that no attendees under the age of 18
without parental attendance will be allowed at this event.
The registration fee is $50 (Members); $60 (Friends); $70 (Public).
Fee includes rituals, 2 nights lodging, and 4 communal meals.

MEMBER ONLY EVENT
MSaturday, October 25, 2008
Time: 7:00pm - 10:00pm
Location: TBA
Our topic this month will be: The Divine Heart Mudra — "I honor and
cherish the Divine within you."
Our process is simple. We create sacred space. We ground and center in
our bodies in the here and now. There is a short check-in to find out
what everyone is feeling. The topic or questions are posed, and we sit
quietly together for a few minutes to listen to our heart's response.
Each person allows themselves to speak from the heart as we all listen
and witness. This openness allows for us to deepen our connections to
one another and learn from ourselves and each other.

I just read about this on The Wild Hunt blog and thought I would share. While most Native Americans do not consider themselves pagan, their relationship to the land and sacred places is something that many pagans can relate to and support. If you live or work in DC, you may want take some time Friday morning to stand in solidarity with another religious minority.

Becoming is a circle of people of many faith traditions who seek
community in honoring Deity and the world around us. We see the
Divine, in all its diversity, alive in the people we meet and the
world we live in. We come together freely to honor the relationships
that make life sparkle. The Earth is seen as alive. Everything around
us is connected. Our core values of respect, honesty, and commitment
flow from the premise that "The Divine abounds everywhere and dwells
in everything. The Many are One." The sacred flows around us and
through us all the time. We have merely to pay attention to it and
honor it.
For more information about our events, check out http://www.becomingdc.org.
Becoming will be at DC Pagan Pride Day this Sunday. Stop by our table
