CIRCLE OF CONNECTION

The core of our tradition, the circle of connection is a monthly opportunity to settle into sacred space and strengthen our connections to the divine within and beyond, the world around us, each other, and our gods and goddesses.

There is a communal potluck lunch after circle. To decrease our environmental waste, we encourage attendees to bring reusable eating utensils.

SAMHAIN DANCE AND FEAST FOR THE ANCESTORS

Everyone welcome

Date: Saturday, October 31

Time: Gather at 6:00pm, ritual starts at 6:30pm

Location: Upper Marlboro, MD

Come ready to invite the Mighty and Beloved Ancestors to join us in the realms between the worlds as we pour libations and dance around the eldritch fires.

There is a communal potluck feast after the ritual, and this event is held primarily out of doors in a campground.  A donation of $10 is requested, but those who cannot pay will not be turned away.

Saturday morning after a home-cooked breakfast, we proceed to the Fairfax Stone in West Virginia. At this traditional source of the Potomac, we sing, pray, and make offerings to the spirit of the river that she may flow strong and clear, bringing abundance and love to our region.

Sunday morning, we enjoy a leisurely breakfast and a nature walk before heading home.

REGISTRATION:

Registration is now open. Space is limited to 12 people.

The registration fee is $50 (Members); $60 (Friends); $70 (Public). Fee includes rituals, 2 nights lodging, and 5 communal meals.

In this time when the solar and lunar energies are dark, we gather to silently witness the turning point of increasing light and the new year. We will gather at sunset and journey to silence and quiet to take stock of the year that has been and what we are putting to rest for the winter.

If you have a traditional tarot deck, please bring it. There will be a potluck, post ritual. Please feel free to bring a dish.

Note: this will be a primarily silent ritual. When you arrive please plan to enter in quiet.

With all the hustle and bustle from Samhain to Yule, Becoming Friends & Members take a couple of hours to create an item that speaks to our spirit. Using natural materials either gathered (twigs, stones, bark) or created (natural cloths, fibers) from Gaia herself, you will go home with only one tangible object but tons of ideas to continue in the creative spirit throughout the Holy-days. Enough basic materials will be provided for each attendee to create one item, but feel free to bring your own to personalize. If there is enough interest, I will meet at 4 PM for a foraging expedition prior to the event. Light refreshments will be served

HEART CIRCLE
MEMBER ONLY EVENT

Our topic this month will be: The Divine Heart Mudra — "I honor and
cherish the Divine within you."

Our process is simple. We create sacred space. We ground and center in
our bodies in the here and now. There is a short check-in to find out
what everyone is feeling. The topic or questions are posed, and we sit
quietly together for a few minutes to listen to our heart's response.
Each person allows themselves to speak from the heart as we all listen
and witness. This openness allows for us to deepen our connections to
one another and learn from ourselves and each other.

Journey to the Otherworld
Saturday, November 3, 2007

Time: Gather in at 6:30pm. Ritual begins promptly at 7:00pm.

Do you dare to cross the threshold and walk the unknown path?  In the
temple of the Otherworld, a connection to the Heart of the Universe is
opened.  Take a journey to the oracle of the Heart.  Only you know
what you are seeking; and who knows what you will find at the Heart of
Mystery.

You only need bring food for potluck after the ritual, a flashlight, a
small token offering, and yourself. Sturdy shoes and warm dress is
encouraged as we will be outdoors the entire time. Depending on the
attendance, this ritual can last up to 3 hours.  People between 12 and
18 must be accompanied by a parent; no children under 12 should attend
this ritual.

More information will be sent when you RSVP.  Please include your name
and the number of people you are bringing.  If you do not have a car
and would like to carpool, please indicate that as well.  We will try
to make arrangements for a pick-up from the nearest Metro station.

Let Angela know that you are coming by Thursday, November 2, 10:00pm.
Even if you
think you have RSVP'd in passing, please follow-up with an email!!!!

NEW LOCATION:  We will meet at the Grove of State Trees Parking Area
at the U.S. National Arboretum.  Please be on time as we may move the
circle to a more secluded area of the Arboretum if need be.

The monthly Circle is held on the second Sunday of the month from
12:00pm to 1:30pm, with lunch following. Lunch will be potluck.  Bring
a dish to share -- there is no heating or refrigeration facilities at
the Arboretum.

We arrange a Metro pick-up for those without private transportation.
You must let us know that you need a pick-up from the Metro.  The
Metro pick-up will be at 11:45am at the New York Avenue station on the
Red Line -- exit on the M Street side.  There is also bus service to
the Arboretum -- take X6 from Union Station.  The schedule can be
