Civil Disobedience is a book written by Henry David Thoreau. Thoreau uses Civil Disobedience to bring light to his anti-slavery and anti-war sentiments. Civil Disobedience has influenced SEVERAL non-violent movements. Civil Disobedience was banned during the McCarthy Hearings in the 1950's. McCarthy felt that the books encouraged citizens to disobey laws.
