Description

Members receive regular postings which summarise and refer to articles from the world's print media covering the Baha'i Faith, community, or individuals.

This group aims to appeal to both Baha'is and non-Baha'is by providing interesting articles and giving them a perspective on how the world currently views the Baha'i community.

The supreme body of the Baha'i Faith, the Universal House of Justice, has predicted the imminent "Emergence from Obscurity" of the Baha'i Faith. This will inevitably involve greater coverage of the Faith in the world's commercial media. This group seeks to monitor this coverage and share the most interesting articles with group members.

Articles are summarised based on what was originally published. Any factual corrections should be directed to the original publisher and not to this egroup.

This is not a discussion group. However, members are encouraged to submit suitable articles (with URL where possible) to the moderator for inclusion on the list. Just reply to a message!

Q: What is the difference between this group and other Baha'i news services such as BWNS and Baha'i Journal UK?

A: Traditional Baha'i news publications are organised by Baha'i institutions (e.g. National Assemblies) and the stories are typically sourced from individuals who are involved in the activity being reported. This list aims to complement these types of news sources, by providing an external perspective on the Baha'i community.

Q: What is your relationship to Baha'i institutions?

A: In this spirit of the Baha'i teachings we are open to consultation at all times with any Baha'i individual or institution that seeks it. The UHJ refers to the development of "the individual, the community and the institutions". This group is better understood as being a part of the "community" rather than part of the "institutions".

Q: What types of articles do you include?
