Glenn,

It is possible to lock a node, but it is normally both unnecessary and a bad idea. If a node isn't in the table it is better to find out why the normal netrom boradcast mechinism isn't working.

But if you really need it, a locked node is added using the "NODE ADD" SYSOP Mode command:

node add bpq1:g8bpq-1 g8bpq 1 192 !

Where bpq1:g8bpq-1 is the alias/call of the remote node, g8bpq the neighbour, 1 the port, 192 the quality and ! the "Locked Flag".

You will need to do a "SAVENODES" command to make the change permanent

If you have locked nodes, you shouldn't use the Console Actions Clear Nodes and reconfg command, or delete the bpqnodes.dat file.

Glenn,

Most likely cause is you don't have a route to ka0mos-7. I tried the command and replaced ka0mos-7 with a station in my routes and it worked.

If you need to lock a route to ka0mos-7, put an entry in the ROUTES: section of bpq32.cfg.

Hi All,

This is a rather basic configuration question but here goes . . .

On the Configuration > BBS Params tab you can specify the SYSOP Call and in my case that has been set to VE3NI,

In addition, you have the ability to to Send SYSTEM Msgs to SYSOP call, and I have enabled it.

This works PERFECTLY as I get all the SYSTEM msgs.

My question is how do I have all incoming packet messages sent to SYSOP enabled such that I can retrieve these messages when I check for messages as VE3NI?

I thought when I set the "Include SYSOP msgs in LM" in the user profile for VE3NI that maybe it would do the trick but no joy.

Suggestions?

hi john and others
thanks for the help. You are right why is tnos not sending the node or bpq rcving iyt
there are nodes on the same freq on rf and of course im on a hile right between them all
i hear them all very well ve1vl is permed at the node with a quality of 192 so this is the one i would
like route through the other to are both at a quality of 144.
if i restart tnos it will bcaast all 3 and they all show up in bpq's node list ilso have all of them locked in
in tnos quality 192 144 and 144 one of them remains in bpq for a short time then the node with qual of 192 and one other disappear. i have removed the locked route from tnos and still get the same results
im stumped ay this point so any ideas and thoughts are welcome here....

I will get it set up when I get back from a new fire assignment.

I just got called today to a new fire near Baudette, Minnesota.  Packing my bags for a very early morning flight.

I should be back home in two or three weeks and I will try to post pictures on my site as we are staying at the Bosch Proving Ground 2 a winter automobile proving grounds…

Hi John and others
my english is not so good but I want to try to explain my problem.
I have installed BPQ32 5.2.91 on my PC. For some programs I want to use the
AGWtoBPQ.exe.
The programs are WPP (Windows Packet Program), AGWTracker, Paxon, etc. They
are currently working very well with the AGWPE.
Unfortunately the AGWtoBPQ crashes after some time when i use one of my Packet
programs. I tried it on different machines with different operating systems.
Desktop PC with Windows 2008 Server RC2 64bit, Notebook with Windows XP
Professional 32bit, Windows XP Professional 32bit on a virtual machine. The time
to the crash is different. Times only a few seconds / minutes and then it works
sometimes 30 minutes. If I myself connect to other Stations the crash comes
sooner than when I receive only. AQWtoBPQ is configured on port 8001 with 6
streams and APPLMask 0x6 for Application 2 and 3.
I hope there is a solution to my problem, because I would like to use the BPQ32.

When using AGW and AGWtoBPQ the problem is usually the port numbers used. This will require you to determine which programs allow you to select the port number and which are hard coded. In short the AGWtoBPQ clients can nit use the same port number as you use between BPQ and AGW.

Hi Bill,

Thx for your answer.
The problem also exist when I use no AGWPE with BPQ. It also happened when i use
BPQ directly with kiss TNC at may COM Ports. The AGWtoBPQ.exe crashed.
The Ports in the Packet Programs are variable. I changed the port in my Programs
to 8001. I also use this port in the AGWtoBPQ.

What is the primary reason to run WPP, AGWTracker and Paxton behind AGW? I only run server class programs behind BPQ; RMS Packet, BPQMail and BPQChat.  AGW Term, AGW Monitor and WinPack connect to AGW directly.

Joachim,

Does agwtobpq crash if you run one of the programs at a time?

Do you get any error messages from agwtobpq?

Hi John
The way I do it is:
First I press the TNC button on the Radio twice.
This puts the internal TNC into packet mode (not APRS mode)

Second using any terminal program I send the following two commands
to the Kenwood D710

CMD: KISS ON
CMD: RESTART

Third: Exit the terminal program and start up BBQ.

Yes hr to, but keep an eye on it as it will slip out of kiss after a while.  And I think Ken added a line to my config file to help it stay in kiss.   I don't use it for this now and we would need to ask Ken what he did.
After about 1/2 dozen times mine stayed in kiss ok    go figure.

Just a note on this one.. Over the last couple of weeks or so Ive been battling
with AGWtoBPQ crashing. This seems to be from around the time I upgraded to the
latest version of BPQ v5.2.9.1. I think the DLL was replaced along with some
other minor changes. I remember the installer seemed to remove and change file
locations of many things as it installed.
Currently Ive gone back to AGW as a replacment to see if the issue lies
elsewhere in the system and so far no crashes.
I run Windows XP with AGWtoBPQ on the standard Port 8000. I am just using
Ui-View32 and JavAPRSsrvr with APRS on a single VHF Port currently with a TNC-X
.
I might have to go back to the previous version of BPQ and see if that is
stable. This could be the next move.
As far as the crash goes I wonder if there are any useful bits of info I can
capture. When it crashes the Tray Icon ceases to respond and I have to use the
Task Manager to stop BPQ32 and AGWtoBPQ exe's . After that I can run them again
ok and the COM port works fine.
When it crashes the WinSock 8000 port still appears to be there as the programes
do not complain about the lack of WinSock however it does not pass any frames to
the TNC in either direction.

Any ideas anyone ? Regards Tony VK5AH

Hi John,

yes, agw to bpq crashes even if only one program is running.
There is no error message. On Windows Server 2008 comes a requester to close the
program. On Windows XP, the window closes without comment.
I now go back to AGWPE. But I hope I can replace the AGWPE sometime by
agwtobpq.exe.

I forgot to mention that I shut everything down when I left on this

I will have it back up when I got home.

Hi,

I am overthinking my problem here for my node.
i am running bpqether and axudp.
now the problem is that bpq hangs/stucks i still can login from fbb to the node but thats it.

i'm thinking that somehow the buffers of bpq are running full becouse of using the bpqether driver and axudp over the same network card.

i have updated to the latest version of bpq32 but still find problems.

maybe a new version of bpqether is needed.
