This is an open forum for Central Oregon paddlers of all disciplines. I would like to encourage all of you to take an active part in developing a tight paddling community. This forum can be used to announce upcoming outings & events, post trip reports & photos, find padling partners, anything relating to paddlesports. It is your forum to use and become more connected with your fellow Central Oregon paddlers.
Check out or join your local paddling club – POCO (Paddlers of Central Oregon): www.paddlersofcentraloregon.org. The club has group paddling trips, various river & social events like river cleanups, demo days, races & rodeos, slide shows, kayak polo, & club meetings to discuss issues & topics like the future white water park.
The future WW park scenario has sparked the interest of the community & is responsible for the creation of the Bend Paddle Trail Alliance (BPTA): www.bendpaddletrailalliance.org. The groups main focus will be to create a continuous water trail through town. This will include portage paths around non-navigable sections of the river & make a water-trial system for paddlers of all abilities & disciplines with perhaps a small section of permanent slalom gates & enhanced hydraulic features for a dynamic white water park. Get involved & help out with these exciting new community projects!
