A group for Brushy Creek, Cat Hollow, Oak Park, and Avery Ranch citizens concerned with neighborhood safety. This group will be used to alert our neighbors of safety concerns.

Example 1: Over the weekend of April 23-24, 2005, we had two stray pit bull mixes roaming the neighborhood. They mauled one of our cats. Due to budget concerns, Williamson County Animal Control was not able to attempt to make the pick up until Monday, April 25.

Example 2: Sometime in 2003 there was an individual at Round Rock hospital that stole a police cruiser and got into a car chase on 620 then through our neighborhood before he escaped on foot through the Avery Ranch area.

Example 3: In 2004, a guy in a white car tried to abduct an individual walking or running on Great Oaks drive.

Example 4: In 2005, a friend's junior high aged daughter was followed home for several days by an unknown man.

Of course, nothing beats a phone call. I would have liked to have contacted everybody in the neighborhood about the dogs because Monday was a school day. This seems like an easy tool to use for future situations.

This group is only intended for safety alerts. In order for this group to be effective, non-safety postings will not be tolerated. This would include postings like "Hey, I'm having a garage sale." Some posts may not necessarily be safety related but may be allowed anyway like "found dog" etc.
