Hello,
We are once again recruiting students to participate in the South Texas
Environmental Education and Research (STEER) Program in Laredo, TX. The
rotation is a unique, hands-on, community-based elective which has
proven to be career-enhancing and life-changing for many of our
students. We would welcome students from your institution and are
confident they will find this experience enriching both academically and
culturally. During this current year, we had three students attend
STEER in January and February!
STEER has hosted over 500 health professional students from over 30
states. Students in the past have taken STEER as a practicum, elective,
independent study or as their core environmental health course. This
fully accredited 4-week environmental medicine/public health elective is
offered through the University of Texas Health Science Center at San
Antonio.
We would appreciate it if you would please forward the attached
announcement to your medical/public health students who may be
interested in participating in this unique program.
Thank you so much.
