This group is dedicated to gathering and facilitating information for the 6th National Conference of African American Librarians, sponsored by the Blaca Caucus of the American Library Association (BCALA). The conference will be held in Fort Worth, TX, on August 2-5, 2007. The Conference Co-Chairs are: Dr. Richard Bradberry, Bowie State University and Carolyn F. Norman, California Community College, Chancellor's Office.

“Culture Keepers VI: Preserving the Past, Sustaining the Future,” is the theme for this conference. This theme recognizes that the work of cultural keepers is a collective effort and that the preservation of African American culture is at a critical crossroad. Information service providers and advocates from several disciplines are encouraged to participate in this conference, which focuses on the state of African American culture primarily in the nation’s libraries and museums.
