Due to the beginning of the new school semester (and spring sports activities taking over all of the gyms) next week's fighter practice at Glenbrook North High School will be on Monday Jan 2nd instead of Tuesday the 3rd.  Please note that we have NOT yet changed to monday for more than just this one week-- we will not know the school's schedule until after the new year.

Thank you

The Ayreton Yahoo! Group is used to post news, make announcements, and for
discussion of interest to all groups in the Chicago area. We encourage all
people of Ayreton to subscribe and receive email or digests, so although it is
not prohibited, please try to keep chatting to the local group mailing lists.

To prevent spam, we unfortunately require new members' first post be approved by
the moderators before being able to post to the mailing list. (This is better
than requiring moderators to approve every member or every post individually.)

The message archive and calendar are available to the public, not just to our
members, so please be aware of this when posting messages and calendar events.
Also, members can elect to hide their email address from being displayed
anywhere within the group. This is done so people who wish to maintain their
privacy can still get/view the announcements for the area. Members who choose
this option cannot post by sending email, and must log in to the Yahoo! Groups
page to post.

These policies are open to discussion, and any grievances should be brought up
to the group owners by sending email to ayreton-owner@yahoogroups.com

Discourse on this list is requested to be kept to Ayreton-wide issues such as
discussion on the Barony process, Ayreton Carnival and any other such area wide
issues. Discourse shall be kept civil as it is entirely possible to disagree
with out being diagreeable. Personal attacks of any kind and general rudeness
are in direct violation of this policy. The decision if a violation has
occurred is entirely at the discretion of the moderators. Violators will be
given three warnings and then banned from posting to the Ayreton Yahoo! Group.
Moderators will try to give polite reminders first before giving any official
warnings, however, this is at their discretion. Banning from posting will last
for three months and then the individual banned must draft an apology letter for
their behavior that led to them being banned. They will then be put on
moderated posting status until the moderators feel they will comply with the
posting rules of this Yahoo! Group. We encourage everyone to partipate in
Ayreton-wide discussions and express freely their opinions without worry of
reprisal from the moderators. We simply ask that you do so in a chivalrous and
courteous manner and without attacking anyone.

Greetings, citizens of Ayreton!

We are looking for performers for Twelfth Night!  Bring your music, your poetry, your foolery and whatever else you would like to offer.

We have a different set-up this year -- we have two performance areas, and you can sign up for half-hour slots in either space, throughout the day.  The areas are on the stage in the smaller room with the bar (where concerts have been in the past), and near the food area in the big room.

I am coordinating the performance schedule.  Let me know when you're interested in performing, and for how long, and I'll add you to the schedule.

If you'd like to perform during the times when food is served, you will have an automatic audience -- that's from 11:30 to 1 for lunch, and 5:30 (or directly after court) until 7.

Thanks, and I'm looking forward to a day of fantastic entertainment.

Feel free to forward this to any lists you deem appropriate....

Yours in service,

-Gianetta

I know we have tons of amazing period cooks throughout Ayreton & the

cooking help.

The Shire of Wurmwald is still looking for teachers to fill their goal

month.

One of the tracks that they are looking for additional teachers are
for their Cooking Tracks.

So if you are heading down to Maidens, and would be willing to teach a
cooking class (or any other class), let me know

Hello Ayreton,

As I'm sure you are all aware, Twelfth Night is less just over a week away. I
am put together the schedule of retainers for their Highnesses and the guards
for the Royalty Room for Twelfth Night.

Please let me know if you are willing to volunteer an hour or two and times you
are available. Don't
worry if you haven't retained or guarded before, we have people who are more
than happy to show you
everything you need to know. This is one of the easiest ways to get to know
your Royalty and serve your Barony and your Kingdom.

Please contact me by email if you are available or if you have any questions.

Thank You!

Good citizens of Ayreton, greetings!

As you know, we have four fantastic taverns planned for Twelfth Night!  If you're interested in serving and helping out, we can serve you a complimentary meal for the service you're helping with!  At this time, we need:

- Several servers for one of the Dinner taverns (starts directly after court, goes from 5:30 to about 7)

- Runners/expediters/washers/cleaners for both lunch (11:30-1) and dinner (5:30 - 7)

- Dish packers for after dinner

Let me know if you're interested in helping out, and I'll put you on the list and give you more details!

Thanks, and happy holidays everyone!

Unto the fighters of Ayreton, I give greetings.

As the new year has finally begun, we are back to having practices at
Ida Noyes hall at U of C on Sundays. This quarter we are on the third

If your new years resolution was to lose weight or get some exercise,
this is a great and fun way to do so. Come out and join us so that we
have new people to fight.

Hi there!

My parents decided to get a new tree because the old one is getting a
bit heavy in its box for them to heave up into the attic. So I am
offering free to a good home a 7-foot pre-lit Christmas tree with stand.
It is big and beautiful and in excellent condition, maybe 5 years old
and there is nothing wrong with it other than it's bigger than they want
to deal with moving. If you want it, it is yours. Our only request is
that you pick it up; I live in Niles right now. Please contact me

If you wish to submit anything, please send them via email to me by 6pm on Monday, January 9.

Please note that I will need to have on file signed creative release forms for any text, art or photographs that appear in The Zephyr. At 12th Night in Tree Girt Sea this weekend, there will be an open scribal
area--The Scribal Sandbox--where we can play around, work on blank scrolls,
share information and inspiration, or just hang out.

Even if you have never worked on a scroll, stop by and we will be happy to get
you started!

Look for the heraldic banners with quills on them outside the door. Hope to see
you there!

There will also be already penned blanks to paint with supplies, for
those not interested in designing or drawing but would still like to
contribute. Also 12th night will be an Ayreton blank collection point
all to be presented for the challenge at Val Day. Please bring any and
all blanks and scroll cases that you'd like to include in Ayreton's
entry to the challenge. Thanks!

Greetings all!
I'll definitely bring my scribal toys this weekend.
May I also suggest we might make some bookmarks or 'thank you' cards for the use
of our royalty? I've been thinking it might be a cool thing to include in gift
baskets from our Royalty to other kingdom royalty at Gulf Wars or Pennsic.
Just an idea for any of you scribes looking for ideas.
Ellen
