At tonight's meeting I mentioned a Yahoo group/mailing list I found that sends
reminders of when officer reports are due in the Midrealm.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MidrealmReports

As far as I can tell, there's no traffic except calendar reminders of reports
coming due.

Sort of OT (but not really as it is Pennsic Oriented), so I figured I
might throw it out here, just in case someone might have one.

I am looking for a used Squat Stand that would be used for holding the
bars for squats.

If you have one that you would like to sell (or lend for the week),
please contact me off list at verena@...

Thanks

To all,

The Baroness Rowan is in Chicago and trying to get a ride out to
Pennsic before Friday.
Is anyone heading out Wednesday/Thursday and has room for one person
and a duffel bag (about 14 inches deep, 18 inches wide, and 30 inches
long).

Let me know if bribes are needed and I'll work something out with the
driver of the vehicle.

Sorry Amelie.  The push for Pennsic took over.  There's been a demand for it though, so I plan to hook this up after getting back from war.

Look for it to happen on August 24th (as the 17th I may be out celebrating the b-day).

Plus, I'd like to work it up with a little more art than I was planning on, given the interest.  I will make an announcement back out to the list sometime after war.

BTW, thanks for everyone who came out to get a fight practice the other week.  Hirsch has raved several times about how much fun he had with many of the area fighters, to the point he said when he visits Chicago, bringing the heavy gear is a must. :)

This would be Graf Sir Hirsch, former King of Calontir. He's one hell of a tough fight, but also one hell of a good fight. He used to school me quite often, but I have never had so much fun taking my whoopin' while fighting heavy. Hirsch is looking to try out fighting with some new faces that he doesn't normally get to fight, while in town for work. So if you're yearning to fight a new face at weekly fighter practice, grab your armor and come on out this coming Tuesday.

So come on out and test your skills, have some fun and meet one hell of a guy and fighter.

MKAOD XIV is being held this year during Labor Day Weekend.  It is also Ravenslake's 21st birthday!!!!  Help us celebrate.  It is a campout at the McHenry County Fairgrounds.  To help it make it an even better success we need merchants.  Merchants can prepay through ACCEPS.  Following is more information.

Merchants:
Merchant spaces are outside only. Merchants must bring their own tables, chairs, and shade.
Merchant fee is $10. If you camp in the same tent you merchant out of there is no extra camping tent fee. If you sleep/camp in a separate tent it will cost $10 for the camping tent also.

Hope everyone is back from Pennsic safe and sound.  Due to the 800 loads of laundry that need to be done, tents that need to be washed, and the general "I don't want to touch anything medieval" feeling post-war, there is not going to be practice this week.

Thieves of Hearts Practice at Glenbrook North High School will resume Tuesday, Aug 23rd.

Thank you

The upcoming Foxvale's Foxhunt is 16th century Japennese/Portugal
themed with what looks like some amazing archery and a scrumptious
feast.

Due to quite a few Ayreton Folks coming back from Pennsic, the very
talented head cook has pushed backed the deadline for feast
pre-registration to this Friday (yes, Friday the 19th). There are only
50 feast seats, you don't have to pack feast gear (AWESOME) and the
entire Japenese themed meal is only $12. The feast is being done by
Lady Kara Atladottir, who is known for not only her yummy foxvale
feasts but also for her recent success at Carnivale.

Feast Menu (only $12 and you don't have to pack Feast Gear)
Sake Sashimi -salmon tuna and rice vinegar
Hiyayakko - chilled silken tofu with sesame seeds and toasted nori
Yaki Gyoza- pork and cabbage filled dumplings
Kitsune Udon -hot noodle soup fried tofu shitake kamaboko (fish cake) shrimp
Hiyashi Udon -cold noodles cold dipping sauce with omelet spring onion
and ginger
Tori Dango Umeboshi -chicken meatballs with umeboshi glaze (salted
pickled Japanese plum)
Kome-rice
Kyuri To Wakame No Sunomono -cucumber and wakame salad
Namasu -daikon radish ginger and carrot quick pickles
Kyuri Asa-zuke-wasabi infused cucumber pickles
Seika -citrus kumquats pears peaches
Wagashi (tea sweets) yokan tofu-dango ichaigo daifuku
Sencha- hot green tea
Ume o-cha- chilled plum syrup drink

Please visit http://www.foxvale.org/foxhunt for more information about
the event, the inn, and the feast as well as the address for pre-reg.
Hopefully we will see tons of Ayreton people there.

Cool! I am trying to convince my non-SCA-playing hubby to come just to check out that feast! Sounds delish.

Hola Everyone,

I have managed to replace the martial activities page for the baronial stuff with the martial page from Carnivale and can't find any backups at the moment. So, I am just working on replacing it.

If you are responsible for a martial activity around the barony, please send me the details including Day of Week, Time of Day, Name of Location, Address of Location, Contact Person, Contact Phone, and other pertinent info and I'll get it corrected as soon as possible.

Also, I am still seeking a replacement for webminister. Kitsune has become the regional web minister and cannot report to herself, so the position is still open. Let me know if you're interested.

Thanks!

Sarafina
