Notifications will be going out beginning this week for heraldic submissions made at pennsic.  There isnt a central list of contact info for those who submitted at pennsic, which means that the info will have to be pulled directly from the submission forms.  In order to speed things along, I'm posting a list below of all the notifications i need to make.  If you see your name on the list, it mean's I've got news for you.  Please contact me directly off list, at Calybrid@...  Those who don't contact me directly will still receive their notifications, but they will be delayed until the contact information can be obtained from the submission forms.

Craftsperson and Performing Artist Faire at Kingdom Twelfth Night

The Barony of Ayreton is sponsoring her Third Ayreton Craftsperson and
Performing Artist Faire, hosted by Tree-Girt-Sea at Twelfth Night.

The format will be a Laurel/Populace Prize Tourney. There will be no formal
judging as this is not a competition. Artisans are invited to display their work
for feedback and commentary. This Faire is open to all.

The Laurels of Ayreton will be giving special attention to those displaying and
are looking for exceptional efforts to recognize with personal prizes. Other
members of the Order of the Laurel as well as the populace at large are
encouraged to bring largess for those displaying.

Pre-Announced Recognitions:

The Laurels are encouraged to grant recognition and give gifts during the faire.
Some have chosen to pre-announce recognitions they would like to give to
artisans. Those chosen may receive words of fame or a token of esteem. This
could be granted during the faire or possibly later in public depending on the
Laurel and the artisan. These include:

Excellence in Agriculture or Agricultural Research
Excellence in Fiber Arts
Excellence in Period Food or Food Research.
Outstanding Early Period Clothing or Kit

Oh yea, oh yea! And stuff!

Now that I have your attention, Hello! For those of you who do not know me, I am Hilla Hamasdohtor, She-Who-Makes-It-Rain! I am contacting you to let you know about an exciting activity happening at Tree-Girt-Sea's 12th Night in the Barony of Ayreton. (For those of you on the SCA Bards list, this is in Chicago, IL, Midlands, Midrealm.)

Do you like bardic circles but never get a chance to participate because they're at the end of the day? Do you like to eat and listen to people sing? Do you like to have informal and impromptu chances to join in to the entertainment? Do you have a song, a poem, a story you'd like to perform but haven't found a place to perform it, or maybe want a chance to perform it before whipping it out at feast? Do you want to hang out with people who like bardic arts? Have you always wanted to see what the heck a bardic circle is but just never had a chance to see? Do you want to sit and listen and just absorb the ambiance of bardic performances?

If any of the above apply to you, I think you'll enjoy what we have in store. Between Noon and 1pm at Tree-Girt-Sea's 12th Night, there will be a Lunchtime Bardic Cafe. You are welcome to purchase lunch on-site or provide your own food. Heck, even if you don't have food, we'd love to have you. The Bardic Cafe will be a time and place set aside for bards and lovers of the Bardic Arts to come together, eat, sing, recite, tell stories, and enjoy other people's performances. This will mostly be an open schedule, but if you would like some time set aside for you for a specific performance, please feel free to contact me, as this can be arranged. Individuals and groups are quite welcome. Veterans of bardic circles and novices to them are welcome.

If you are intending on attending Tree-Girt-Sea's 12th Night ( TGS 12th Night ), please come and join us for a lunchtime full of bardic fun! (Or mayhem. Or both.)

For more information, contact me, at hilla@....

In service to the Dream,

Lady Hilla Hamasdohtor

Middle Kingdom 12th Night (The Musical!) - European Dance

Greetings!

Thinking about coming to the Middle Kingdom 12th Night in Tree-Girt-Sea
(Saturday January 15 in Chicago, IL) but not sure what to do with all that open
event time?

Come dance!

Renaissance Dance Practice: 1 pm - 4 pm, First Floor

No Musical is complete without dancing. And we mean LOTS of dancing. So drop
into our class and learn the dances that we will do for the evening ball. We
will do our best to give people a quick walkthrough or a reminder of the steps
before each dance during the ball but we cannot do that for all dances. That
means you need to come and learn! The class will not have a set structure and
will depend on whichever dances people request to learn.

Evening Dance List: 8:30 pm - 10 pm, Third Floor

Set One

Black Almain (A longways English Inns of Court dance for as many as will.)
Amoroso (15th century Italian dance, for couples)
Horses' Bransle (16th century French dance, for couples in a circle, with women
in the center, holding both hands with your partner. The first two rounds will
be non-partner switching. The rest will include partner switching.)
Petit Riens (15th century Italian dance, for groups of three people in a line.)

Set Two

Maltese Bransle (16th century French dance in a circle.) (Arbeau version, as
opposed to the Schiarazula Marizula thing often called the "Turkish" or
"Saracen" Bransles. These are SCA inventions. We're attempting to do the
historical version.)
Gracca Amorosa (16th century Italian dance, for couples.)
Anello (15th century Italian dance, for sets of two couples in a circle.)
Contrapasso in Due (16th century Italian dance, for couples)
Official Bransle (16th century French dance, for couples as many couples as will
in a circle. The first two rounds will feature a "lift," as opposed to a "toss."
There is no "Toss the Wench" in the original version. The "tossing" version will
start on the third round.)

Set Three

Earl of Essex Measure (A longways 16th century English Inns of Court dance for
couples.)
Belfiore (A 15th century Italian dance, for sets of three people--2 men and 1
woman, or 2 women and 1 man.)
Bizzaria d'Amore (A 16th century Italian dance for sets of two couples in a
diamond.)
Madame Sosilla's Alman (A longways 16th century English Inns of Court dance, for
couples.)
Rostiboli Gioioso (A 15th century Italian dance, for couples.)

Greetings kind sir!

I have been trying to register for 12th night for the past week and am having
difficulty with the registration site... It is not displaying the Middle
Kingdom 12th night as one of the options to register for... Is registration
closed?

Please do let me know how to proceed. We would very much like to attend and
also attend the feast if that is still possible.

Thank You

The hotel I work for is selling the old TVs that are being replaced in the guest rooms. These are old school tube TVs, but they can get cable. Color TV 25 inch, no bells or whistles. If you're interested, they are $10 cash only and you have to pick it up from me at the hotel by Monday.

Email me at sarafina.sinclair@... or call 312-493-2255 if you're interested.

Thanks!

Hello Ayreton,

As I'm sure you're all aware, Twelfth Night is less than a week away.  While a few of you have volunteered to retain/guard (Thank You!!!), we are still going to need more help.  Please, please, please, let me know if you can volunteer an hour or two.  I will happily work around your schedule.  I will happily train you if you've never done this before.  This is one of the easiest ways to get to know your Royalty and serve your Barony and your Kingdom.

Please contact me by email if you are available.

Many thanks,

Jane

Good citizens of the Barony of Ayreton: Good Morrow to you!

The folks of Ayreton, along with our friends from other areas near and far, are preparing to celebrate a most musical Twelfth Night event next Saturday.

To that end, Mistress Gianetta and I would like to request that you share your impressions, stories, opinions, articles and anything else of interest connected to the event by sending them to me by end of day on Saturday, January 22 so I can include them in the issue of The Zephyr I will be compiling at the end of January. Items not related to Twelfth Night are also very welcome, of course, but we would like to feature Twelfth Night in this issue.

I will send you a reminder after the event is over, but wanted to ask you now so you would have reason and warning to preserve your thoughts and memories next weekend.

Here's some more information if you would like to help out Leah of High Wycombe
and Ragnar of Birka, from Flaming Gryphon.

Gas cards and gift cards to department/super stores never fail to help but on a
personal side of things Sarah (Elisabetta Foscaria), her daughter, has given
ideas for them, "Mom loves anything having to do with spinning, weaving, bobbin
lace, and Pergamano. She was extremely upset about the loss of her 3 floor looms
- she has had those since I was a child - that was very hard for her. As far as
Eric, he likes archery, historical books about WWII, Sci-Fi - Stargate series,
and is very big into Nordic things."

Last night we had 2 archers improve on their Winter Challenge scores. Henry of
Exeter went from 67 to 70. Nicely done your Excellency!

And Verena Entenwirth went from 87 to 100! Congratulations on breaking into
triple digits and moving into the top 20 on the winter challenge recurve list.
(as soon as I report the scores later today)

Also a big horray to Isabel of Kenniston who came out and posted her first WC
score of the season last night! Once reported this will give Aryeton 9 archers
reporting scores for the WC, tying them with Sternfeld.

We now only need one more score to put Ayreton at the top of the Middle Kingdom
list. Knowing the regulars and semi-regulars we have I can see us easily
increasing our #'s by at least another 6-8 archers. So if you haven't gotten the
chance score this, please get your scores in soon. Also, I will be running
Winter Challenge each Wednesday at the Custom Archery Shop practice. So if you
need a venue, come see us, have some fun and we'll get you in on the fun and
your score on the board.

Best of luck to everyone and good shooting.
(See below for a complete list of scores from last night)
Baron Henry of Exeter:R(ns) # 35 - 69+1 (Increased score)
Lady Verena Entenwirth:R(ns) #35 - 98+2 (Increased score)
Isabel of Kenniston:R(ns) #35 - 19 (First reported score)
HL Lukas Mesmer:R(ns) #45 - 78
