The Ayreton Yahoo! Group is used to post news, make announcements, and for
discussion of interest to all groups in the Chicago area. We encourage all
people of Ayreton to subscribe and receive email or digests, so although it is
not prohibited, please try to keep chatting to the local group mailing lists.

To prevent spam, we unfortunately require new members' first post be approved by
the moderators before being able to post to the mailing list. (This is better
than requiring moderators to approve every member or every post individually.)

The message archive and calendar are available to the public, not just to our
members, so please be aware of this when posting messages and calendar events.
Also, members can elect to hide their email address from being displayed
anywhere within the group. This is done so people who wish to maintain their
privacy can still get/view the announcements for the area. Members who choose
this option cannot post by sending email, and must log in to the Yahoo! Groups
page to post.

These policies are open to discussion, and any grievances should be brought up
to the group owners by sending email to ayreton-owner@yahoogroups.com

Discourse on this list is requested to be kept to Ayreton-wide issues such as
discussion on the Barony process, Ayreton Carnival and any other such area wide
issues. Discourse shall be kept civil as it is entirely possible to disagree
with out being diagreeable. Personal attacks of any kind and general rudeness
are in direct violation of this policy. The decision if a violation has
occurred is entirely at the discretion of the moderators. Violators will be
given three warnings and then banned from posting to the Ayreton Yahoo! Group.
Moderators will try to give polite reminders first before giving any official
warnings, however, this is at their discretion. Banning from posting will last
for three months and then the individual banned must draft an apology letter for
their behavior that led to them being banned. They will then be put on
moderated posting status until the moderators feel they will comply with the
posting rules of this Yahoo! Group. We encourage everyone to partipate in
Ayreton-wide discussions and express freely their opinions without worry of
reprisal from the moderators. We simply ask that you do so in a chivalrous and
courteous manner and without attacking anyone.

Howdy All!

I want to take a moment as we are all pulling together everything for the event
to say to everyone,

GOOD JOB!

We're about to have a great time hosting the Kingdom and putting on a great
celebration.

THANK YOU!

Our work on this event is a great example of how well we are working as a team –
we're acting as the populace of Ayreton. That's awesome.

Also,

HAVE FUN!

If you are feeling like you've committed yourself to too many things, ask for
help. There will be a lot of people around willing to pitch in. Take time to
enjoy all the work we've been putting into this coming weekend.

See you soon!

Dear Aryeton,

I, too, want to say that I have been tremendously impressed with the wonderful
ideas, the immense hard work, and the good-hearted cooperation of the entire
(incipient) Barony! You have all been wonderful and it has been a pleasure to
work with so many talented and helpful people!

This is going to be an outstanding event, and let's be sure that our own people
have enough relaxed time to enjoy it to the fullest! Please don't work too hard!
Share the jobs, and share the fun!

Thanks to Emily of Grey Gargoyles, we have permission to get into the building
at 7 am. This is a boon for staff and for set up!  There will be a lot of
tables and chairs to move around, because of the Career Fair today.

I have two personal wishes for set-up. First: are there two people who can
devote the 7am hour to helping Master Hal Raeburn with the changing rooms?
Second: are there four people who can help me hang the big red-and-white banner
from the tower?

Thank you very much. This is going to be great!

yours,

Fern

Offworld designs has told me that they can do reprints, for $45 (setup) + cost/shirt depending on quantity. They can also use the same screen for long-sleeve tshirts, sweatshirts, and hoodies.

I suggest that a) I sell the ones we have. If there's a huge demand and I run very low quickly (like before lunch), I start taking orders. If we get to the point of taking orders, I may as well open it up for other types of shirts since it won't matter to Offworld designs what kind of shirts the image goes on (other than price). If I don't run low until after lunch, I won't offer to take orders. We'd only get the $7.20 price per tshirt again if we ordered at least 100 shirts of all kinds. (price goes up to $9.60 each for under 25 shirts ordered, which still gives us $10 profit so it isn't too bad)

If I start taking orders, given the cost increment over the tshirts for the other three types, I suggest that they be offered at:

tshirts: $20

long-sleeve tshirts: $25 (cost is tshirt + $3)

crew-neck sweatshirt: $30 (cost is tshirt + $6)

hoodie: $35 (cost is tshirt + $10)

We'd have to send them out after the event, and either eat the postage, or ask for an additional $1-2 to cover shipping.

Please think about it and let me know what you think tomorrow morning. I have been assigned a merchant space so I'll be hanging out there all day.

Howdy All!

We've just finished hosting an excellent event so this news is especially well
timed.

The June Laurel Letter of Acceptance was just published and we're got great
news.

The "Barony of Ayreton" is now a registered branch name with the College of
Heralds.

We have a name! That's one step closer! And thanks, Thorvald, for pointing out
that the June letter had been published!

I shooed away some non sca kids that knocked over my camera bag in our recording

blue bag with FINIS written on it. Also a soft lens case.

It has my charger, extra battery and usb cable for my nikon. If it hasn't
vanished and you know where it is, please let me know off list.

At least the left my camera, flash and lenses alone.

Thanks.

I wanted to thank everyone who helped me with story recording at MK40th and to Fern for giving me the opportunity.  I'm going to use modern names since I know more by that name (apologies in advance for mispellings).  Thank you Kathy Westburg and Melissa Gordon for scanning; Joscelyn Gordon, Bob Bowen and Robin Goldman for shooting pictures; Katya for recording; Kevn Westburg for running errands and helping folks with their paperwork; Ferns audio crew sent to record with much better equipment than we expected; and all of the folks who brought pictures or shared their stories.  There were a few whose name I didn't get that helped me move my gear in and out, thanks.  Thanks Master Sean for wrangling folks and pics.

My wife, Lori/Sahar needs her own paragraph.  She helped me with all the details of planning and provided her professional skills that will help me bring the material together in a useful manner.  She carried tables, helped donors with paperwork, set up gear and generally took care of whatever I needed.

Thanks to anyone I forgot too!

Greetings,

I would like to take this time to thank Mistress Juliana, Master Hal, and everyone who assisted at Troll for Coronation/40-Year. You all made my job as bankroll for the event a smooth one, especially considering the numbers we had yesterday.

We ended up with 689 adults attending this event. 689! And I never saw a huge line at Troll at any given time. Congrats.

Also, if you have an outstanding receipt/invoice for a 40-Year event-related expense, please turn it it over to me NO LATER THAN the next Ayreton Bizmeet, 11.October.2009. If I do not have it by that time, consider your expense a donation on your behalf to the Midrealm and to Ayreton. Sorry to be a pain, but I would prefer to not keep funds rightfully due to Ayreton and to the Midrealm frozen in the Grey Gargoyles' account because an invoice or a receipt is still outstanding, especially considering the next quarterly Exchequer Reports are due at the end of this month.

Thanks again.

Hope you can make it!

no, I still have ~65 tshirts left. I'm taking orders for these tshirts to get them sold.

Anyone who didn't get a tshirt, I still have them in sizes Small to 3X.

Send checks to Susan Earley, 4N400 Church Rd. Bensenville, IL 60106. $20 gets you a tshirt and I'll figure out how to send it to you or mongolmail it somehow.

I'll also bring them to the Ayreton business meeting next sunday.

I would like to go to Crystal Ball this year.  Particularly since I plan to
abuse my bad knee with more dancing than I should, I don't think I can make the
drive.  Is anyone planning to go that would have room for a rider?  I can pay my
share of gas money, and we can discuss the logistics of room and board.  This is
one of the best dance events in the Midrealm.  More details of the event are
below.

Please respond off-list to alta_gioiosa@....

Thank you,
