Upcoming calendar upgrade: Yahoo! Groups calendars are being upgraded to a much improved version. You may not have access to the calendar (for up to 24 hours) when this group is upgraded. We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience.
Description
This group was started to discuss the topics of the automation/animation of different things on layouts, displays, and dioramas with scale models. To me that includes anything that moves or you want to make move.
Discussion of ideas on how to make Automation and Animation work with scale models. This will include any type of model from Airplanes, Cars, Trucks, Tanks, Boats, and Railroads.
The group will talk a lot about animation of things and after getting it to be animated talk about how to make it automated. I believe that since most animation will lead to automation the way the animation is done is what controls on how to automated it.
1. No flames unless you are talking about how to get flames to work on a layout.
2. Be nice. If you like to use some four letter words, after the first time moderators will be the only ones to read them.
3. Spamming is not for this list. If you want to see that type of stuff, you are in the wrong group.
4. Posting messages that doesn't use the To: line (ie:BCC, CC or some other version of these) will get you not posting here.
5. Posts about something to sell had better be some item that is automated on a layout.
6. Acting like you "found" a web site and just telling everyone here is not nice. If you want to tell us about your web site tell us outright and be honest about what the site has to do with automation.
7. If for some reason something happens to get posted that is not right, do not complain about it here on the list. I will fix/delete the problem later. If you really need to tell someone about it send the message to the List owner.

Re: miniature smoke or mist maker
Hey all, Did I miss the point:)? Is this an 'on board' application? If so, the mist makers likely aren't a good suggestion. The ones I have do have a wall wart

Krissy, I've had good success and great fun using an HO Scale smoke generator offered by Seuthe for a smoking chimney on my layout. The unit runs off of 14

Re: miniature smoke or mist maker
Might be able to use a smoke generator for a model railroad locomotive or building. I just saw one on ebay for a LGB G locomotive from a guy that goes by
