This listserv is for general announcements relating to the Autistic Self Advocacy Network. It is open to anyone who is interested in working towards empowerment for the autistic community and the full realization of the rights of all individuals on the autism spectrum. Please specify when joining the listserv if you are an individual on the autism spectrum, a family member, an educator or other professional or other relevant status. This particular list is for announcements and will not be open to general posting. A monthly newsletter is currently in the process of being developed.

The Autistic Self Advocacy Network (ASAN) was founded and is run by individuals on the autism spectrum. It seeks to pursue an ambitious agenda to serve the autistic community by engaging in meaningful public policy advocacy as well as other projects designed to improve support for and acceptance of individuals on the autism spectrum. We support efforts geared towards developing improved educational methods and assistive technology that address the various difficulties that many individuals on the spectrum struggle with. ASAN is committed to working towards an inclusive society where all autistics can realize their potential and believes in the autism spectrum as a natural and permanent part of human genetic diversity.
