RDI/Autism....This group is for both parents who are currently working with an RDI consultant, along with parents who are not working with a consultant at this time, who want to help their children by the philosphy of Relationship Development Intervention in a supportive atmosphere. We also welcome all RDI consultants and Consultants in training to this group! There are numerous parents who have (or have had) a consultant on this board to assist and help in the process of delivering an approach to Guided Participation without a consultant. This group strongly recommends getting a consultant when the family is financially able or until they can attain funding. This group is not a place for anyone who wants to learn how to add RDI to an existing behaviorial program. RDI is a completely different model. The group welcomes you if you are still doing a behaviorial model, but only insist that you do not water down RDI in its effectiveness by trying to add RDI techniques to any behaviorial model.
Discussions concerning other therapies are welcome here in the format to try and understand RDI implementation, or treatment of co- occurring conditions.
