Welcome to Austin’s future-oriented transhumanist group. (Includes: transhumanists, futurists, human enhancement advocates, life extensionists, crybernaughts, singularity fans and critics, cyborg and posthuman enthusiasts, cryonicists, academics and activists.)

If you are interested in intellectual discussions, meeting and building friendships, social functions, out-reach and activism, please join us! We will send out notices of our monthly meetings and events. Announcements will provide locations, times, dates and topics of discussions. An element of our group is a book club. Notice will be sent out about books with a futurist element, that have been chosen for discussion within our group, for any who wish to read them before our next meeting.

You are welcome to introduce yourself with a post. To suggest books for group discussion — occasionally we will vote for a book through our yahoo group's members posting. You can offer to host a meeting in your home or other location. Please contact one of the group moderators about this. If you read an article of interest somewhere else on the internet, please feel free to post the link to our community for discussion, or even cut and paste (with reference) the parts that interest you.

You are welcome to share information about our yahoo group and live-meetings by forwarding an email notification to friends and colleagues. In addition, the email notification can be posted in other forums/ blogs/ news-outlets or internet-sites.

This group does not require high level of participation. Its primary function is to send notice of meetings in the Austin area. We look forward to seeing you at some of our upcoming real-time meetings!
