This group is the Australian arm of the U.S. Coles Quilts group.
Although the group was primarily set up to make quilts for children suffering from SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy), we have also joined up with Very Special Kids (VSK) Victoria (currently only the Barwon region). On request, we also make quilts for any child suffering from a critical illness. We also make quilts for the major Childrens Hospitals in each state to aid in their yearly fundraising efforts. Too this we have added the Cuddle Cushions which are donated to the Childrens hospitals, primarily for the older kids who may think that a cute quilt is too babyish for them, mainly teens.
For now the only squares accepted for quilts are those that are cross-stitched on aida or even weave. Although other types of squares are accepted for the Cuddle Cushions.
We are a totally volunteer group who give our time and talents freely to try to make the life of an ill child just a tiny bit better.
And for that, we thank all the ladies and gents who take time to stitch for this group.

" How can I thank you? what can I say?
When Ros opened the quilt all I could do was develop goosebumps all over and burst into tears!! Don't worry, I didn't cry on the quilt. The quilt is so special and so lovely, it is Ros' life all in a magnificent square.
Please thank all of the people who worked so beautifully on the squares. they are all so beautiful and so amazing. Everyone who has seen it gushes enthusiasm as it is simply stunning. Thank-you so much.
I will organise a photo soon. Peggy took a shot to send to you as I will do when I get my hands on a camera!!
Warmest regards and deepest thanks for your kindness,
