Description

This group has been created to support Herbalists Apothecaries in the Society of Creative Anachronism within the boundaries of the Kingdom of Atenveldt. Folks who are of like mind are welcome to share in this forum.

This group is created to give a forum for the research and recreation of period herbalism with the Society for Creative Anachronism. Modern usage and actually taking herbs for specific conditions are not an appropriate topic for this list and should be discussed elsewhere. Culinary usage, bath and beauty care and period recipes which are not intended for internal use are all welcome subjects, and sharing of gardening techniques, success and failures of Arts and Sciences projects and the sharing of resources and ideas regarding period herbalism and alchemy are encouraged.

We are a sanctioned Herbalist Guild here in Atenveldt. Formal membership requires only that the Guild Badge be displayed. A cross stitch pattern for the badge is available in the files section. We encourage all who are willing to share their knowledge and experience with others by teaching or being available for interested newcomers to step forward and be added to the register.

This egroup is not SCA sanctioned, any statements made within are only the thoughts, ideas, and statements made by its members.

Rules:
1) NO SPAMMING! All new members will be moderated for their first posting to prevent spam.
2) Your freedom of speech is respected, and so is mine. If you cannot maintain civil discourse, you don't need to post to the list. There will be no name-calling, derogatory remarks or insults tolerated. Remember, written communication does not provide the cues of tone of voice, facial expression, and instant feedback, so be prepared for misinterpretation and be quick to clarify and apologize if necessary. Above all, play nice!
